I wanted to love Lava House, especially as a new addition to the neighborhood, but unfortunately, I'm not sure this restaurant will last long unless some things improve. The service left much to be desiredāthe lady who took our order seemed disengaged, not rude but definitely not friendly. My daughter enjoyed her waffle stick with Fruity Pebbles, but my Nutella crepe with strawberries and bananas was soggy.
My husband's $12 avocado toast was disappointingājust a slice of untoasted whole wheat bread with feta and capers, neither of which were listed on the menu behind the counter and neither of which he eats. Rather than complain, he scraped it off, but we both felt it wasnāt worth the price. On top of that, the utensils were flimsy disposable plastic despite being served on glass plates.
