Food was fine, even good; but I won't be returning until the pandemic is over. The three guys behind the counter who were preparing food & ringing up customers seemed friendly enough, but they weren't wearing their masks correctly. If masks don't cover both the mouth and nose without gaps, they're useless. I got good tasting food, but I didn't feel safe in the establishment and while I never took my own mask off, I just couldn't feel good about these guys breathing on what I ate. If they're that sloppy about safety precautions when preparing food at their jobs, I don't infer that they're being more cautious when they're commuting to work or socializing. It's just too much exposure for a burger and fries, ever good ones.
Look, if you've bought the myth that the pandemic is almost over, and you're just reading this rolling your eyes thinking, "FINE but how does the food TASTE, Captain Corona Buzzkill?!" I'll give you this: The caramelized onions were good enough that they made everything else on the bun including the burger utterly irrelevant and superfluous. I was so inspired, I made myself a caramelized onion sandwich on a bun later the same week at home. No burger. Just two onions sauteed until they got jammy & brown. Salt, pepper, & Kewpie mayo. It was awesome. But the universal truth is that caramelized onions are always glorious. They're also cheap to make, require no special equipment & all they take is some attention & patience. I don't have to go back to Yo-Burger to get them.
Yo-Burger obviously thinks a lot of their Milkshakes because they charge over seven dollars for an unadulterated chocolate milkshake with a straight face despite the fact that milkshakes are small, don't even fill the cup, and are just really nothing special. If you're gonna charge 7 bucks for a small milkshake, you'd better be ready to justify it with undeniable flavor and make every sip worth the cost. I've been thoroughly satisfied by a cheap chocolate milkshake, and I've been blown away by a few pricey ones, but I have lower expectations for the cheap ones. At Yo-Burger's price point, I expected something much more impressive. Not only was it not worth the cash; it wasn't worth the disappointment. Just buy a pint of Ben & Jerry's & toss it in your blender with some milk. You'll end up with twice as much milkshake for less than one at Yo-Burger; and it'll taste better.

Read moreAs a local Manhattan College student, I'm always looking for places to grab a quick bite. Found this gem on one of those food excursions. Their burgers are amazing!! I have recently transitioned to low carb/keto and they even wrapped by "burger" in lettuce when I asked and didn't look at me funny like most places lol. Anyways their burgers are juicy, they're similar to like shake shack (if you have to compare them to another place). They have lots of toppings to chose from as well for no additional cost. Some toppings are extra though-- like an egg or bacon.
Anyways they also have fries, their cheese fries are pretty good. The froyo is pretty good as well, wish they had more toppings but this isn't a froyo joint so I appreciate that they even have the option. The wait is always short, they have nice outside seating so you can sit outside on a sunny day. Wish they had nutrition information on their foods. Def recommend, especially if you're...
Read moreAt first I was a little skeptical. "Yo-Burger" Hmmmm. But once I visited the location, Burgers and Frozen Yogurt. It all made sense not. But in all seriousness, you have to visit this burger spot. There did it right here. I tried one of there Burger doubles with all the fixings. Its was outstanding. The burger was moist, juicy and full of flavor. Decent size and priced right. A meal form two will run you about $20 to $25 dollars. Not bad in todays ridiculous prices. The location was clean and the staff was responsive. The bathrooms were rather clean and functional. The is a school near by and the location was full with teens enjoying frozen yogurts and milkshakes. I had nom issues what so ever. What won me over was the taste of the food. Excellent I will say. If you are in the Riverdale area like I was, I highly recommend this burger spot and try their double cheese burger with cheese. You will not be disappointed any...
