We reserved a table for Valentine’s Day. We showed up 5 minutes early. The main room was half empty. The hostess insisted on seating us alone in the back room. She told us the tables in the main room were for parties of 3 or more. Of course it’s Valentine’s Day. When we leave we can clearly see it’s all tables of two. Next my first order is wrong and instead of apologizing she’s like “oh did the bar get it wrong again”. Later a waiter dropped a glass on us. He apologized profusely and said the next round was on the house.
Later asked for the bill and it took more than 10 minutes after asking before the waitress came back with the check. Of course no deduction on their part. We were in a rush so we just paid it.
Have to say I would never come here again or recommend it to anyone.
I watched the hostess attempt to seat multiple people in a weird solo nook where you couldn’t see anything and watched all...
Read moreMy party and I hung out in the back room, which was cozy. I really liked the service; our waiter was charming and did a good job of anticipating our needs. He even gave us some extra service since it was a light evening crowd.
I ordered the Dauphin, which was layed in crushed ice and included absinthe among the ingredients. It was delicious and had a licorice taste to it. I later tried the Du Barry, which was also quite tasty. None of the drinks were very strong but they contained flavor combinations I had never tasted before and my taste buds were delighted.
The food was good, but not outstanding. I was mostly there for the ambiance of seclusion and they delivered. I only tried the pate and some fries anyway and they were very tasty. Next time I'll try more food. For light fare it was good paired with my cocktails, and I was happy enough with the food. I'll definitely be returning...
Read moreI went for the first time this past Saturday, Dec 28th, and I had an amazing time! The place is decorated beautifully, the bartender was really friendly, and created a new cocktail for the happy hour, that was unique and delicious, and the burlesque show was exquisite. I actually came here to see burlesque. There were two acts with a very talented dancer, who performed classic burlesque, one with feather fans, my favorite style. My only issue was the atmosphere between two acts, there was very loud club music playing between the acts, which in my opinion is not fitting speakeasy vibes at all. I couldn't hear my friends talking, but I didn't want to leave because I wanted to see the second burlesque act. If the music after the first act would be less loud/annoying, I wouldn't have taken one star off, it would've been a perfect speakeasy, with great service,...
