Limena Pisco Restaurant & Bar — Restaurant in New York

We came during their soft opening 3 separate times. If you have tried amazing Peruvian food in other parts of Queens, then you can tell the kitchen staff is working on finding their groove. We tried the "bistec a lo pobre" the meat was charred to a crisp, on top of it being the thinnest cut of meat to get at a restaurant. The fried egg was fried to the point where you can only make out the yellow yolk. Over cooked. The "Causa de Atún" tasted refrigerated and undercooked. Their rotisserie chicken felt underseasoned and undercooked. The Lomo Saltado was dry on top of a tiny puddle of soy sauce. I write this as actual feedback to their food. And hopefully they can improve. Their drinks are tasty, and their bartenders put the work into the drinks. Hopefully they can keep up that drink menu cause it definitely brings something knew to the neighborhood. Please work...

We live in the neighborhood and were craving Peruvian food so we decided to try Limeña! The music and atmosphere is fun and laid back. We ordered the ceviche de pescado, lomo saltado, and two pisco sours. The drinks were good! The presentation was lovely and it tasted like a classic pisco sour. Food portions were decent, although a bit pricey (could be sticker shock). The lomo was good but not gourmet— it’s classic and no frills. Ceviche was great— although I would have loved more leche de Tigre. I am giving 4 stars because they had only one server for the restaurant, so service was a little backed up. Had to try a new spot with one of my best friends. The atmosphere and design really reminded me of a refreshing Lima day back in Peru :) Alejandro the bartender surprised with pisco shots for the opening week and the drinks we ordered were such a good taste, we ordered a second round. To control the strong pisco, we ordered the ceviche clasico (very fresh!), chaufa de mariscos and tallarin verde con entraña, good flavor in all 3 and were so full.
