I don't know what is going on with this place lately, but I do know that two of the male employees (for description: both of those guys wear glasses, one is young and the other is older) can't even seem to do a satisfactory job. It seems that the customer service has been declining to the point that they don't care to maintain the reputation of a small business (i.e. Parrot Coffee).
Incident #1: Earlier this year, the older guy confidently assumed that I was coming in to work (or something employee-related) and automatically spoke to me in Spanish (mind you, he also speaks English). I, confused, asked him to repeat what he said to me. He asked if I work there... I've been going to this supermarket (the big Parrot Coffee, not the small one next to Dunkin) ever since it first opened. I looked at what I was wearing (as someone who would dress to run a quick supermarket run) and looked at his uniform (fully dressed for work with a blue vest). Since it didn't quickly register to him that I don't work there nor have I ever worked there, I had to tell him that I don't work there. NOT A BIG DEAL if I dressed similarly to him and his coworkers or if I ever worked there at any point.
Incident #2: Months after Incident #1, I tried to purchase Kikkoman's Panko Breadcrumbs along with using the "75-cents-off" manufacturer's coupon. Both of those guys won't ring it up without the manager's approval (for a manufacturer's coupon that came directly from the box?), despite that the coupon was scannable and registered in their POS system. According to him, she is only in the market until 5pm and I don't usually shop until well after 5pm on most days, so I could not get this resolved. So, when I tried to come back again after a few days, they had already removed all of the manufacturer's coupons from the box. Mind you, the coupon doesn't expire until well after this month (September)... Shady.
Overall, I give this place 3 stars when they could have easily had 5 stars, but they failed to achieve that. It is becoming a place that loses my trust in their efficiency, and I could see how this could affect other shoppers who want to optimize their experience in the supermarket. While I prefer to support small businesses over corporations, all businesses need to be held...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreTwo nights in a row, I came in, and the lady with the master's degree in the Deli and customer service assisted me with everything. Absolutely amazing individual. One night I did not see her so I was helped by the guy there with eyeglasses (I apologize but I donāt know his name ) who was helpful, however his knowledge of this expertise was not on the same level as hers. Nevertheless, I made a purchase. Excellent customer service, but lacking in knowledge compared to the other female. The next time, I'll ask for her name and post it online so that everyone can see that she is the real deal. She is a genuine individual, therefore whatever she says, she is telling the truth. She will give you lectures about every cheese and cold...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreThe store is really organized, but it lacks in some aspects, for example, Vital eggs are over priced $8.99 when Target has it for $5.89. Their Kerrygold Grass fed Cheese is $7 , when itās $4.99 at wholefoods. They have good options for healthy foods, but lacks in selection brands. Also I was disappointed when I saw the price for the Ezekiel Bread for $7 , compared to $4 At other locations. I understand their store is not meant to be Wholefoods, but their prices are very pricey compared to other locations. Their eggs are also lack in selection and prices are high compared to local competitors. If only they can add a better selection on their healthy...
