Linda's — Restaurant in New York

It is really best you order on a third party App. They pack all third party delivery app first and if you order in the restaurant you get what’s left or it is sold out because they have to give it to Uber/Doordash. You wait 15-20 mins to order and then have to wait an additional 45-1 hour to get your order because they are so focused on Uber/Doordash. Even if what you order is sold out by the time they are giving you your order they ask you if you want something else and even if the item is $0.50 more you have to pay the additional amount even though it is their inconvenience. The servers are very rude when you ask how much longer for your order to be ready. Sometimes the Mac and cheese is cold when you get it. The food is sometimes barely hot. Their cheesestraws are good but be careful because they will give you ones that are burnt. THIS IS NOT THE PLACE TO GO FOR A QUICK MEAL ! BE PREPARED TO LOOSE 1:30-2 hours out your day. You might as well stay home and cook.

UPDATED: SERVICE STILL SUCKS, visited back there again last weekend, dark skin girl who usually do cashed was really nice. HOWEVER, that older lady who was serving must think she is Linda. I was there for almost 2 hours between ordering and waiting. Spend $85 in total, was cashed around 2:24 pm at 3:43 pm I was still there waiting left at 4:06 pm, all of this wait for some food that is done cooked ? Let me say I placed a first over first for 3 food, I wanted 40 mins still my number didn’t call, so I said let me just order some pastries and a slice of Mac and cheese extra since I already waited such a long time I ordered 2 cheese straw and a slice of Mac and cheese. At 3:22 pm she called my second number my first number still wasn’t called. It was the older lady who was doing it, no problem so I went to explain to her that I have another order before just put it together, she went on to say “oh I don’t know why you all keep going back and forth doing this” mam I was here awaiting how long for 3 plates and you here mad because I went to order pastries. So she said no she not giving it to me no more because what if a person who order before my second order don’t get anything because I went to order a second time (confuse me to), mind you there is almost a full pan and Mac and cheese and about 8 bags of cheese straw sitting there. So she took it back and said no I have to wait. If the cashier wasn’t so nice I would have cancel everything in my order. Because you telling me all this and I still ain’t get my first order I ordered over a hour ago? So she packed my first order and that order I received about 3:45 pm. So I am still waiting for the second order because she refuse to give it to me, I must wait for my number to call. So fortunately a light skin young lady came out and began to help, because the boy who was helping also look like he scared of that older lady because I’m asking him a question he telling me I have to speak to the older lady who was clearly ignoring me and giving attitude. The young lady look like the only one who was packing an have sense, she picked up the pastries receipts and started doing them to lessen the coward in the restaurant. She went to get my receipt the older lady telling her she not doing it because I went back on the line and order 2 time, and the young lady just pack my order and I was out of there 5 mins after she came. THEY SERIOUSLY NEED BETTER...

Linda’s West Indian restaurant on church avenue is hands done, by the far the worst place to conduct any sort of business. I’ve read countless reviews in the past concerning their horrible customer service, but being that I am an advocate for supporting black businesses, especially black Caribbean businesses I thought “what the hell, I’m just getting some cassava ball and leaving.” Fast forward to 12/31/17 a substantially large order was made one week in advance and PAID IN FULL to be picked up at 10am. A call was made to the restaurant requesting a change in the pick up time for 3pm. Like all of us, life happens. I got there at 4:30pm. I did receive a call from the restaurant at 3:30pm without a voicemail message. I returned the call twice, both times the phone was busy. Upon arrival several things took place. 1. The cashier could not locate my order 2. I was told “you didn’t come at 10, so it was sold” 3. The server who called said “I’m not obligated to leave you a voicemail” 4. Once the receipt was produced, they still were unable to locate any history of the purchase 5. The cashier saw it fit to raise her voice towards me. 6. No one not once apologized for the misunderstanding. The fact that my order was PAID FOR IN FULL seemed to bare no weight to this establishment.

Needless to say Linda’s has not only lost one customer, but I will see to it that on one in my family purchases from there again. Please take you business else where, the food is mediocre...

HORRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE!!!

1. Went in on a Saturday afternoon to pick up an order that my cousin placed days in advance. I stood inside amidst the crowded setting and no one would attend to me. (Apparently they have a box office window to the right, another glass partition for pick up, a counter, and another box office towards the back). I eventually spoke to someone and they asked for my cousins name. I provided them with her name, only for them to tell me that they need a receipt. Now, if the order was made via a telephone to a Jamaican restaurant, how in the world am I suppose to have a receipt?! The worker then left, came back with a book and found my cousin's name. But wait...There's more. THE ORDER WAS NOT EVEN MADE AND IS NOT READY! HOW?! WHY IS THIS?! IT WAS PRE-ORDERED! I then had to pay and wait another 20-30 minutes for them to prepare the order.

2. On Friday, July, 30th, 2021, I went into this location again in the afternoon to order some pinwheels. Long line as usual, but I was able to make it to the front and request an order for a pinwheels. I was told that there was only 1 left, which I agreed to take. Upon paying, I tried to use my debit card, and was told that it was cash only unless the order is above $10.00. I then requested to order 1 beef curry and 1 chicken curry with roti, only to be told that there is no roti or dhal puri available! HOW DO YOU NOT...
