I used to live in The Bronx I move 5 years ago to New Jersey An hour and a 1/2 away from The Bronx and that used to be my favorite restaurant to go to eat their sancochol was amazing el cosido de pata de baca Was out of this world I was in that restaurant 2 to 3 times a week and every time I have the chance to go back-to The Bronx I would stop in and spend like over a $100 in food to bring back so I can have food for the rest of the week recently for the last 2 times that I been there I don't know if they change to cook or have new owners I have to say the sancocho the last time I bought it was I thought mofongo with Stew shrimps they gave me only 6 small shrimps And it was salty and it tasted horrible disgusting roasted chicken was so overly cook and dry I think it was A-day old chicken it wasnt fresh roasted chicken the black beans were so salty that you couldn't even eat them not to mention I've bought 2 cakes of tres leche And I was so excited to get home and have my cake and when I went to eat it the milk was sour In both cakes so they was selling rotten cake This was such a great place to go and eat and I enjoy the Dominican food but I would never go back there again the last 2 times my experience with the food Was very disappointing and when I get home the food goes into the garbage so I'm basically thrown away $200 worth of food in the garbage And whoever is cooking one chef to the other I am a professional chef They're doing a horrible job with the food The white rice is supposed to be nice and bright and white like they used to have it before now is Greec hard a BAgE color it doesn't even look like white rice I'm so disgusted and disappointed that the food has changed and I'm sure I'm not the 1st 1 to complain So with that said I wouldn't even give it no stars but I was nice enough to give it a one star because the waitress was very nice but that's about it Not to mention that the last time I bought a sancocho I had no corn on the cob in it I had like 3 pieces of ox tail And the rest was potatoes now who put potatoes in sancocho love I know how to make suncor to and I've never put potatoes in Sancocho it has yuck yauotia Calabasas Green bananas Green plantanes It has got Gagina pork beef And the soup comes out like a green Orange color The Sun coach I bought was watery very brothy you can see right through the the broth yellow like chicken soup disgusting soup I would never go there again and I recommend that you don't go the food is horrible if you use to be good years ago Not any more...
Read moreThis place is absolutely fabulous. Although the decor is not the best they try their best. The staff members are good at the cash register. Usually when I go here there are a few men who work the register and they're very polite sweethearts. They tried their best to help you out. However I can't say the same about the women who work as a waitress on the floor. When I go to sit down and always appears as though these women have a very displeasing facial expression. I'm not just talking about one I'm talking about many of them. I just can't figure out if you're not happy where you are then find somewhere that will make you happy. Of course the pleasant attitude always helped to bring about more 5 stars to your establishment. Let's talk about the food the food is always on point the rotisserie chicken is probably the best in the neighborhood. Always juicy never dry. The beans specifically the black beans are always flavored just enough. Never overseasoned and never salty. Just what I like. The rice specifically the yellow rice is nice and soft and on top of it then it's perfectly size to be considered yellow rice. When it comes down to the mofongo I enjoy the chicken absolutely perfectly blended with just enough seasoning and garlic. The sauce that goes with it is 100% very good taste in. I doubt very seriously if it comes out of the can or though someone told me it did I can't believe that's possible not the way it is very flavorful and specifically it is not heavy and salt. This is one of the best restaurants to visit when you are in the Bronx you must come and check this place out dinner here is always on point. I promise I will give pictures of my meal...
Read moreI always loved this restaurant, but last Sunday May 31st I called in for delivery at about 7:30pm the man left me on hold for 5 mins he apologized and told me that they were busy. He took my order and told me that I will be receiving my food In about 25 to 30 minutes, I see that one hour goes by and no food yet. So I decide to call back to see what is going on with the order and the man tells me that they are currently waiting for the delivery person to come pick up the orders and that I should be receiving my order shortly and hung up the phone without even letting me say thank you. Another Hour went by and still no food, when I called back they didn’t answer the phone and by that time it was already 9:30 and I knew that they were still open because there hours of business clearly stated that they were closing at 11pm. I called back two more times and still no answer, my food never made it to my apartment and they never answered the phone. I felt very disrespected they left me waiting for my food for three hours when I could of just went somewhere else. I use to love this place I grew up eating from this restaurant but they will never get any business...
