Came on a Tuesday Night Party of 2 Restaurant was pretty empty which is nice because we got to enjoy and appreciate the interior.
Interior: Nicely lit Air Conditioned Well decorated. Modern with fresh look Seating has ample space and tables are roomy Pretty bar setup Nice small touch, but they used pink Himalayan salt as the condiment which gave a nice feel (not that cheap table salt which I appreciate) Sushi preparation and kitchen were hidden so you don't hear or see the prep
Food: Nori Roll, Salmon Roll, Shrimp Fried Rice, Shrimp Tempura, Yakitori, Matcha Fried Ice Cream Fish tasted FRESH. Tried Salmon, Tuna, and Yellowtail. Was not fishy at all. Portions were big enough to fill an average person. Rice had a smoky delicious flavor. Not salty at all Shrimp Tempura was so delicious with great sauce Presentation was clean and simple Cost was affordable and reasonable
Staff: Greeted with a smile and a 'Welcome'/'Hello' Waiter was extremely attentive and polite. Used Tablets to take orders which is another nice modern touch Noticed they had their kids there. Very quiet and didn't even notice they were there.
Overall: Nori Izakaya is a lovely and clean sushi place that has a roomy and refreshing feel. The food is delicious, fresh, and well presented. The staff were pleasant and professional. Thank you for the hospitality. Will definitely be coming again.
Note: My partner is a born and raised Manhattanite who has gone to many sushi places. I don't think I've seen their face light up over a Shrimp Tempura the way they...
Read moreThe ribeye yakitori was pretty good, tender and a good amount of sauce to pair it quite well. The chicken skin yakitori was very crispy and delicious, with just a tad too much sauce which made some pieces overly salty, but no biggie. The salmon tartar was just okay, with the yuzu sauce being very sour. I think if the amount of avocado being increased a bit, it would have helped equalize its sourness with the creaminess of the avocado. The three rolls lunch special is very fresh and had more ingredients than rice, just like the special dancing lobster roll which had so much lobster (as evident in the pictures)! The rock shrimp lunch bento was also just mediocre, potentially due to it being overly battered and pieces were combined together. Overall, we really loved the freshness and generosity of the fishes in their normal and special sushi rolls! The restaurant also looks very pretty with beautiful floral decorations and is incredibly spacious and clean. The staff were all very friendly and quick with their service, with pretty plates and utensils. Will definitely be back and I'm sure with a little adjustment, the quality of their food will only continue to enhance!

Read more4.5 stars for being a new option with fresh, tasty food. Disclaimer: I ordered from UberEats, so I don't know what the interior of the restaurant is like.
Yakitori was delicious, fresh and reasonably priced. I especially liked the various chicken skewers. The "pork sausage" was just hotdog (or at least tasted identical) lol but in my experience at yakitori places, that's what it usually is. Flavorings/sauces tasted authentic.
Tonkotsu ramen was good enough. I'm spoiled by Manhattan ramen so I find it difficult sometimes to judge Staten Island ramen - they always feel less-rounded and less flavorful. This was a little heavy on the salt, but still good! You could taste the pork bone, unlike some places on the island where it's so watered down if you close your eyes you can't tell what the heck went into the broth at all. I am eager to try their miso ramen in the future; hopeful I will like it more than the tonkotsu (which is honestly still fine). Would...
