Buono Bakery — Restaurant in New York

Buono Bakery has been a special and an important staple to my family and the East Shore Community of Staten Island for decades. On October 1st, I needed a VERY last minute 50th Anniversary Cake. Within a couple hours and some fresh flowers and other decorations I left with them to be creative with, " VOILÁ !!!" The cake was NOT ONLY Beautifully Decorated, but it was so light, not 'too sweet' like the cakes I have eaten from other large gatherings/parties (yuk) It tasted Amazing and was a big hit . My parents loved it too! My mother is very picky when it comes to these type of party cakes and always uses the excuse that she is on a diet in order not to touch it, but after I tasted the cake, I insisted she taste it. She did, and I could not believe it, she absolutely loved it. I was so excited by her reaction although she was not surprised when I told her it was made by Buono Bakery. Mom Is a little particular but Buono Bakery is her exception. She too has been a customer for many decades and still buys from them even after moving to New Jersey. I can not express my gratitude enough for their help in getting me out of a bind & producing such a memorable, beautiful & delicious last minute Anniversary cake. I would recommend Buono Bakery to everyone. They have something for everyone!! The prices are VERY Fair. Almost a steal, for the great quality you are getting, . (This is MY experienceI and also comparing to other bakeries nearby who charge a ridiculous amount for products that are, in my opinion, TOO SWEET and not very tasty (but may look pretty on the outside). I am just a little concerned with their early close hours. They close at 5pm and have no idea when this started but I am hoping it is temporary as I am a "last minute Molly" and have always depended on BUONO for my "later in the evening" birthday cake pickups. Was very disappointed in pastries and rainbow cookies. Bought a dozen pastries 6 of them mini cannolis, which were the only good thing. They fill them fresh on order. The other pastries were OK at best. They have a limited selection, and some seemed old and not fresh. The cookies were strange and had an extra layer for a 7 layer cookie. They were edible for the price I paid but would rather spend that type of money on an enjoyable experience. The space it's self is a bit outdated with a limited selection of pastries, as I already mentioned. Did not try italian cookies and biscuits this time, but in the past, I used to quite enjoy.
