This authentic Sicilian restaurant in Douglaston is a true hidden gem 🇮🇹 Everything is homemade, the ingredients are straight from Italy, and you can taste the quality in every bite 🤤 Below is everything I tried! ✨ Caprese with Proscuitto ✨ Croquette al Forno ✨ Bucatini Ai Formaggi ✨ Margherita Pizza ✨ Ian Special Fun Fact- Dave Portnoy rated their pizza an 8.4 so you know this is legit and I can confirm it’s one of the best pizza’s I’ve ever had. Whether you’re craving homemade pasta, a perfect pizza, panini, or a flavorful app, Picciotto has you covered! 📍Picciotto, Douglaston NY #nycrestaurants #queensny #queensrestaurant #italianfood #italianrestaurant #sicilian #pizza #bestpizza #nycfood #nycfoodie

When I looked up a place for wood fire pizza, I saw that Piccootto had great reviews but I was not prepared for how well they would live up to the hype. It is such a small, unassuming pizza spot in the middle of nowhere but ALL the food we ordered was AMAZING! The lady that served us was so down to earth and sweet. When we ordered the Pollo e Broccoletti , they didn't have brussel sprouts but graciously substituted with broccoli rabe which turned out so delicious with the garlic and chicken. The focaccia that came with the order was so soft and chewy with a great crispy crust that went so well with marinara. We also ordered the 3 meatballs as an appetizer and, I have to say, it was the best meatballs I've had. They were so flavorful and tender and the outside was nicely browned which gave it an amazing texture. We went simple for an entree and got the Margarita pizza and was not disappointed. The sauce was perfectly seasoned and the cheese was not too salty or overpowering. The dough though. Something about it was just SO tasty! Thin and soft in the center from the sauce and cheese but crispy and chewy when you get to the crust. Tasted great dipping it in their marinara sauce for extra flavor. One of the best Margarita pizzas I've had. For dessert, we got cannolis and tea which was a great way to finish off our meal. The cream was fresh and not too sweet and the cannoli shells were crispy. Overall, this was a 10/10 meal and will 100% come back to try other pizzas and entree dishes. Will definitely be back for more of those meatballs too.

So far I have gotten just the Lasagna bolognese but I am definitely gonna go back to try the pizzas and order the lasagna again. Let me just come out and say it, the lasagna is bliss. The second the food went into my mouth I actually made a 'yum' sound and felt like I was in Sicily. The Lasagna gave a full mouth feel. You can taste the tomato sauce like its homemade, the cheese and meat giving such a fluffy and full feel texture, the pasta nice and light just combine to make this beautiful delicious symphony in your mouth. I cannot stress enough how good it was. The service was impeccable. Hazel is such a kind and courteous woman, who makes sure to go out of her way to ensure everyone is having a great time. She is very nice and friendly to customers which makes the food feel that much better. The chef/owner Alessandro is also nice and friendly to customers, and you can see that he puts passion and love into his craft. The atmosphere is also very beautiful and gives off a small European cafe. On a nice clear day its definitely a nice choice to come by and get some food and sit and enjoy the sunshine. I am definitely going to come back with my parents and friends. This is an amazing place to get a more authentic pizza and lasagna experience.

Horrible, expierence. Was treated less than Human and understand the owner needs sensitivity training as well as guidance on how to maneuver with grace and charisma thru mistakes. Really want to give ya a 0, but I can't. Was recommended this place for a fine dinig Italian expierence for my husbands birthday dinner. Really expected it to be a amazing expirence. he day of it ended up pouring so we decide pick up. I called for the food and hour ahead was told 35 mins got to location STILL WAITED AN hour. Watched owner touch food with his bare hands . No hair nets nothing. Food was almost $50. For a mini pie that was soggy raw looking thin cold and no sauce. Lasagna was ice cold. Portion and dish looked nothing like entree photo , more like yesterday's left over (ew) the sad part. Then the icing on the cake we get a order of small canoli to find a long black hair in the inside while taking a bite ewwww had a very open mind and after waiting almost 24 hours. Called, the first woman was very kind apologetic and undetstandung told me to wait a call back. The owner calls me back with a nasty attitude asking what happened he said that that was hard to believe never offered an apology just demanded I come to the restaurant "so he cook look me in the eye. I declined as that sounded aggressive and he proceeded to make snarky remarks on how all the staff wears hair nets to soon after ADMIT that the watreess DO NOT wear hair nets aka the same people he has in the kitchen preparing the desert orders. Was so disgusted I just told him to have a good day and that we would never...
