I’ve been coming to this restaurant since 2011 I’m guessing they are different owners.. I’ve spent anywhere from $80.00t to $600.00 in this place., I don’t like to leave reviews especially to complain.., but the new staff especially Ponco I believe his name is.., is very rude and disrespectful and it’s not the first time yesterday it’s been already several occasions not only with my husband and I.., but other family members after leaving has told me he was rude..!! But I promise I would never step foot in that place again you’re definitely not the only restaurant that cooks good or better yet okay.. we’re Peruvian we know good Peruvian food.. I rather drive an hour and get excellent service then to tolerate disrespect from anyone..!! Yesterday my husband and I get there 02/25/2021 I let him know we need a table for 2 he tells me these people are waiting who needs a table for 5 after them you are next okay no problem.. finally after almost 45 minutes they sit the group I see a table of 2 being Cleaned so I’m thinking we’re next.. this man out of nowhere comes in with his wife talks to the waiter privately mind you I’ve been standing there now almost and hour this man and wife was nowhere in sight and he has the audacity to tell us he was here before ya he just came back LMAO..!! So now I’m upset and tell him you said we was next after these people and of course the other people there who was waiting as well started complaining with me.. then he said if ya don’t like it ya can leave..!! Worse disrespect ever I honestly felt like really really getting disrespectful..,, but you know what at the end of the day you will never again get my nor my family’s hard earned money they hate ya food anyway cause ya options of food is very very small they go eat there cause of us but never again.... BTW the staff before them was very courteous and kind.. Don’t know...
Read morePio Pio on Cypress Ave in the Bronx is a must-visit spot for anyone craving flavorful, authentic Peruvian cuisine. The star of the menu, without a doubt, is their famous rotisserie chicken.
The chicken here is simply outstanding. It's perfectly cooked, with crispy, golden-brown skin that locks in all the juices. The meat is incredibly tender and infused with a blend of spices that give it a unique and mouthwatering flavor. It's the kind of dish that keeps you coming back for more.
Accompanied by a generous portion of their addictive green sauce, the chicken becomes even more irresistible. This sauce is a spicy, tangy delight that perfectly complements the savory flavors of the chicken, making each bite an experience in itself.
The sides are also worth mentioning, particularly the avocado salad and the fried plantains, which round out the meal nicely. The portions are generous, so come hungry or be prepared to take some home.
The atmosphere at Pio Pio is vibrant and lively, making it a great place to enjoy a meal with friends or family. The service is efficient, though it can get a bit busy during peak hours, which is a testament to its popularity.
While the prices are a bit on the higher side for a casual meal, the quality of the food, especially the chicken, makes it worth every penny. If you're in the Bronx and looking for a delicious, satisfying meal with a taste of Peru, Pio Pio is the...
Read moreService was pretty bad. Upon entering, this one young dude didn't even greet my friend and I just...kinda looked at us. He had 2 tables apparently for us; I say apparently because he didn't say a word. Instead, he looked over at them, opened his arms at them like he was selling them and we just picked one to sit. Anyway, I ordered el Lomo something which was peppersteak over fries and rice. I asked to sub the fries for fries yuca which are on the menu and he says it couldn't be done...why? It's so simple. Make yuca instead of fries. At one point i wanted to order a drink and closest server was the speechless kid who had an awkward stare. I asked him for a soda and my friend asked for a spoon. He brings the spoon and leaves me guessing as to whether or not the soda was coming. I only found out after watching pace around like he had nothing to do and I asked a different server at which point he told him, not me, that he requested it from the bar already. Just a horrible experience. I paid 28 bux for my meal and my friend's was about 13 or 14 for the same portion just chicken instead of steak. That Lomo whatever meal is both fries AND rice... I'm not a fan of starch on starch. I took 2 stars off for the actual service. Food taste was ok and the place had security so it isn't horrible. I would go back because maybe it's just that one server that sucks and I'll just order...
