I saved this place as my favorites in the beginning, the food is actually really great, at least from what I and my girlfriends have tried. But when they brought us our check, the excitement went down. First of all they are including tips already to the bill, I mean we were party of three, why would you do this? I understand it’s necessary in the USA, and still tips is tips, there’s no law on it and it should be on the customers direction, shouldn’t it? Not like additional mandatory charge of 22% (22%??) Again I understand it would be a party of 8 or more people, but to include into the bill of everyone is kinda lame. And then 22%? What made you guys think we would want to leave 22%? 20% is standard for all the restaurants, in Europe it’s way less and the food and service is often way better (especially the food). I do not agree to be imposed to pay 22% especially when I don’t think I want to leave that much (for the wine that both me and girlfriend had to wait and to remind waiters to bring us, several times, as an excuse example). And even more, on top of that, you guys are counting tips of 22% from the amount that’s already with the tax?? This smells like a deceit to me, I’m sorry I don’t like when places do that. The tips should be calculated off the pretax money. I don’t like to be cheated upon in restaurants. So even though the food (what we ate) was really great, not sure I will go there again and have unhighlighted from my favorites places, I don’t like when the people and places force me to pay more by overstating the amount due. As an update thank you for settling the bill, I understand there was an error, next time I will try to settle the issue at the restaurant before writing frustrating review, apologies in my return for overreacting. I still stand by my statement that the food was great.

If you're looking for a delicious Italian meal in the neighborhood, look no further than Provini! As a local resident, I've had the pleasure of dining at this establishment several times, and I have yet to be disappointed. Their friendly staff itself is a great reason to be there. The restaurant's cozy atmosphere and friendly staff create a welcoming environment that makes you feel right at home. And let's not forget about the food! Their menu boasts a variety of classic Italian dishes, all made with fresh, high-quality ingredients. One standout dish that I can't get enough of is their homemade pasta. It's perfectly cooked and has a wonderfully chewy texture that pairs perfectly with their rich, flavorful sauces. But it's not just the main courses that are noteworthy. Their appetizers and desserts are also top-notch. The bruschetta is a personal favorite of mine, and the tiramisu is simply divine. Overall, I highly recommend giving Provini a try. Whether you're looking for a romantic date night spot or a casual dinner with friends, this place is sure to please. And with reasonable prices, you won't have to break the bank to enjoy a fantastic meal 😍 enjoy and have a wonderful time đŸ·đŸ˜đŸâ€ïž what more? Oh yes I also like their decoration, a true Brooklyn style classic NYC setting in a great neighborhood

I love Provini, it’s consistently one of my favorite restaurants in the city and I make an effort to eat there despite not living in the neighborhood. It’s a great local spot, chill enough that you can bring your kids for weekend brunch, but classy enough that you can go for a fancy cocktail with your girlfriends at night. The vibe is old New York, I haven’t had a bad thing on the menu, and the servers and bartenders are so lovely and take such good care of you. Must-haves dishes are the Parmesan CrĂšme BrĂ»lĂ©e (trust me, this will awaken something in you), the Siciliana salad, and the Lasagna, but I’ve never had a disappointing meal here. For cocktails, you can’t go wrong with the Provini spritz, and for a fun and unique take on the espresso martini try the Espresso Yourself. My personal favorite is the Negrini Sbagliato. If you’re seeing a movie at Nighthawk Prospect Park, make some time to stop by Provini before or after!

Decent food, but truly awful service.

Our waitress straight up forgot to put in the order from someone in our party. Not a big deal, it happens sometimes. But instead of apologizing or owning up to it, she just ignored our table for 10 minutes. So one person sat there without food while the rest of us were awkwardly waiting for their dish. Then the waitress finally brings the dish out, and again, no apology or explanation.

Finally, at the end of the meal, we were trying to get our check and our waitress was hanging out at the bar texting on her phone. Never looked up or checked in. After 10 minutes of watching her text, I just got up and paid with the bartender.

Oh, and to cap it off, the table next to us was ALSO missing a dish. So this same waitress forgot to put in an order on two consecutive tables in the span of like 5 minutes.

Seriously, there’s other equally good Italian joints within a one block radius of Provini. It’s not worth the...
