Edited to add: About an hour or two after my initial review, I was contacted by a lovely woman who was very apologetic and explained that they would be changing their menus to reflect that the red cabbage is pickled to avoid confusion in the future. I truly look forward to seeing these changes and hope that it will help others that are also unaware. I will update this review at that time.
Original review: I used to like ordering from this place but one too many times my food is off-putting. I called today after getting my delivery because everything tasted sour (didn't look fresh, didn't taste fresh). Neither their website, nor their menus, nor their 3rd party delivery services say that the red cabbage is pickled. When I called today, the lady that answered said that the cabbage is pickled. Huh?? If I had specifically ordered pickled red cabbage, this would not be an issue. But I ordered "red cabbage". Full stop. Doesn't say pickled anywhere. My entire meal was ruined by these ingredients that I was not anticipating. I couldn't finish my meal. Truly a waste of money. Management - please update your website, all of your menus, and your 3rd party services to clarify IF the cabbage is indeed pickled. IF it is NOT pickled, you are COMPLICIT IN SERVING SPOILED FOOD! Please do better...
Read more“FRESH AS F” I always passed by this place without giving it a second thought because it seemed to be one of the hipster super expensive green places that charge you $24 for a rice bowl. But I decided to give it at least a shot for me. And WOW WAS I BLOWN AWAY. I tried the most popular dish here called “The Protein Bowl” and they DO NOT CUT CORNERS HERE. For only $13.95 they give you a VERY VERY LARGE amount of SALMON and it is as fresh as it can me (cooked might I add) and a HUGE AMOUNT of hummus. Which normally other places give smaller portions to make bigger profits. But here they JUST GIVE EXTRA. Staff is as friendly and nice as possible, and management seems solid. Very clean bathroom and prices are very decent for what you get. As the bowl comes with about 500g of Salmon, and that would cost me $10 raw at the supermarket, so paying an extra $4 for it to be cooked by chefs and have all these extra toppings for me it’s super worth it. Apart from that the amazing calorie count it fenomenal. Food that tastes great but doesn’t get you overweight. I will be back, best...
Read moreI ordered a "fresh-squeezed" orange, grapefruit and lemon drink for $9.95 and left a $1 tip. The juice was NOT fresh-squeezed, it was clearly watered down and they clearly added sugar. I called the manager to complain and she said that it is fresh-squeezed and how it is. I can tell fresh-squeezed orange and grapefruit juice and this is NOT that. It literally tasted like Tropicana orange juice WITHOUT pulp. The woman who took my order... I asked her multiple times to NOT add water or ice or any other juice or base. She assured me she wouldn't and was simply lying. If they use 1/3 or 1/4 fresh-squeezed juice, that is just NOT overall fresh-squeezed juice. The manager was polite and friendly, but it is completely false advertising. In all fairness, 90% of the juice places I have tried in NYC use the same EXACT tactic: water down the drinks and add sugar and try to PASS ITSELF OFF as selling fresh-squeezed juice. JUST BE HONEST. DON'T CHARGE ME $10 FOR WHAT AMOUNTS TO ESSENTIALLY $2 WORTH OF TROPICANA I CAN BUY AT A SUPERMARKET...
