Springfield Playground — Attraction in New York

The park has very large space for people to walk around and spend time. The playground is relatively small compare to the park. There are hard surface area for game and outside the playground boundary there are grass areas for children to chase and run around. The playground did not provide play equipment to children but they are welcome to bring their own equipment to the playground. There are slides and climbing structures but I haven’t notice any swings. There many spaces for large muscle movements which helps children to improve their gross motor skills. Equipment encourage balance, coordination and strength. Children takes full advantage of the complex structures in this park. There aren’t any sand, water or stage play area for creative plays. This park is located in a natural area which is attractive to birds, butterflies and bugs etc. There are benches on this park so parents or caregivers to sit and monitor the children. There are spaces for social interactions among children as well. I did not notice any broken glass pieces or sharp edges on the equipment. This playground is clean and free of litters. I noticed good amount of shock absorbing material under all the climbing and moving equipment. This playground encourages play and has easy access. The equipment is challenging which foster in physical development. There are no swing sets and creative play structures but the slides are colorful and fun.
