I took a 20 minute drive across town, during rush hour, to try this place out. A colleague told me that the macaroni and cheese was top tier so I wanted to try them out. It took me a few minutes to find it because it doesn’t look like a restaurant at first glance. It looks more like a beautifully decorated boutique of some sort. I walked in and then walked out. I took some steps back toward the curb to match the address on the sign with the one in my phone. The address matched so I walked back in.
I was greeted by a very polite young man and was offered the menu for the day (the menu changes every day). I ordered Salmon with macaroni and cheese, salad (lettuce & tomato), and a passion fruit juice. It was approximately a 15 minute wait (I was offered a seat), and then the young man who greeted me and took my order brought my food and drink out and told me to have a nice day.
When I opened my food the presentation was ok. It was a healthy portion of mac & cheese, an average size portion of salmon, and a really small portion of salad. I ate the macaroni first and it was really good. It was moist and well seasoned. The salad tasted really fresh and it was good.
The salmon is where it all went wrong. I broke a small piece off with my fork to taste it and the taste was really good. It was well seasoned and had a great tasting garlic sauce. When I went to break off another piece I noticed that the salmon had a reddish pink appearance (more red than pink). I broke the fish up some more and noticed that the same color appeared throughout. It look like farmed raised fish and at this point I couldn’t eat it.
Overall, the flavor of the food was really good. The passion fruit juice was amazing as well as the customer service, but charging $25 for a meal which included farm raised salmon is absurd. I can only imagine how expensive it is to run a restaurant but quality ingredients should be a priority.
I wish you guys the best of luck. I would recommend their macaroni and cheese and passion...
Read moreMy acquaintances, friends, a few coworkers, and myself have learned one thing for sure, don’t ask questions. There is a young girl so kind enough to answer questions with no trouble at all always. First, the food is very good, ok, but not something out of this entire universe. It’s pricey to some but I think it’s worth it. What we don’t appreciate is that whether we spend a lot or not we should be able to ask questions about our amount due, about the food, and/or any questions at all. Yes, sometimes the wait time is long which makes sense because maybe certain things are made at the moment or microwaved, idk, but people have busy schedules. Some can wait some can’t. It’s not personal, it’s business. The extra thin young girl there who tends to wear a one piece leotard type thing is usually very moody, doesn’t like to be asked questions, and has a lot to say about customers that annoyed her throughout the day. No one wants to know your personal business either and whether or not guys want to date you or not. That’s bad for business and extremely unprofessional. The ambiance and treatment has certainly changed as time has gone by and they have gotten more popular. We get it your business is growing but it’s no excuse for the bad attitude that is given when dealing with that young lady. There’s no excuse. We don’t go as often anymore if at all because we spend a lot there to then have that type of treatment. SMH. Some businesses just don’t care but some do take customer service...
