Love this place and go all the time but the last two times I’ve had not a great experience with one particular waitress/bartender. She has face tattoos not sure of her name as she is not so friendly.
The first experience was my boyfriend and I went and we were seated at a table. She was our waitress but someone else had came around and asked if we wanted another round of drinks which we said yes. 5 mins later she came to ask us if we wanted another round…we said yes assuming maybe the other guy told her to check in on us. Right after that she came back seemingly reprimanding and obviously annoyed letting us know that she is our waitress and we should be ordering with her and that our drinks got submitted twice. I understood the frustration, but that wasn’t really our problem and should have been handled on the back end without letting us know.
Secondly, last Saturday we went again and this time sat at the bar, we were on our first round of drinks and she replaced the bartender that was there first as it seems like she went on break. She approached my boyfriend and I and asked my boyfriend only if he wanted another drink as his drink was empty, but she did not ask me if I needed anything. I didn’t think much of this as I had a bit of my drink left and maybe she noticed so I didn’t give it a second thought.
I finished my drink and I waited about 10 minutes for her to come back to the side of the bar to ask if I wanted another drink she ended up remaining at the other side of the bar fulfilling orders for tables and others at the bar, but there was this gentleman behind the bar seemingly fixing cups in which I asked him if I can get another. He said yes, and again five minutes later she came up to us and asked if we needed anything I said, “yeah I would like another margarita but I did already let the guy know” seemingly trying to correct the mistake I made last time when the order got submitted twice. She then starts to explain to me that that’s why she came over because that guy was the bar back and I shouldn’t be ordering drinks with him and I should be ordering drinks with her. As if I would know that. Again reprimanding and over explaining rudely like I did something wrong. Again…she was obviously annoyed.
She proceeded to take another 15 minutes to make my drink. I understand it was busy , however I do not think the explanation was necessary is 1. And 2. If the gentleman let you know we wanted another round you could have just said “hey I heard you want another drink. What where you having so I can go make it?” Not talk to me like I know your job positions. 3. Provide better service and check in. Or 4. Quit your job if you...
Read moreThis rating is mostly based on service. Everything else (Food & Atmosphere) was good.
I attended a private event hosted by a family member this past Saturday. It was a celebration. We were about 50 guests not counting kids. A decent and manageable size group (especially if you’re expecting it) in my opinion.
The food was good (minus the wings that were extra well done), but, it was brought out disproportionately. I believe this was due to the fact that they were understaffed for our party.
We starterd with the wings. Folks got up and they went fast! I had to wait more than 15 minutes for mine. I’m used to folks being ontop of things, being ready for a decent sized group, and keeping the food coming. When they arrived, I was already back at my seat. A family member passed me a plate with some.
Then the ribs and mac & chees (both delish) were brought out at about the same time (yiu know, protien & carb combo—makes sense).
But then, the sliders came out. They were very good. But what goes with sliders? Yes, the fries! They arrived way after I had my fill of sliders. Several of us just stared at each other and stared at the fries like, “shouldn’t the fries and sliders have come out at the same time?” Again, I think it was a staffing issue. One person trying to do too much on their own.
Now come the drinks… They had ONE waiter tending to our drinks. We had drinking bracelets, so it was easy to identify who could have one. However, since we only had one person handling all the orders, each of my requests took 30+ minutes to fulfill. Something as simple as ordering a Coke, took forever (my wife doesn’t drink alcohol and she never got hers. I gave her mine).
It came to point where I just stopped asking for drinks, and settled for water… Which, was lukewarm and not replaced during the entirety of the event… Oh, I have to ask for more water? Finding a cup for said water, was another adventure.
In all, we as a family, made the best of it and we had a good time, but the service, especially for private events,...
Read moreBronx Ale House is working hard to follow city mandates to keep its space and workers safe and compliant. Unfortunately, it's at the blatant disregard and detriment of their patrons. They'll say and lie about whatever they need to for you to spend your money and then treat you poorly. During our visit, we saw multiple parties having similar or worse experiences.
If you call ahead or arrive to any wait, prepare to be given a blatantly false wait time. They may quote 5-10 minutes, but you'll be waiting at least an hour.
You might ask if it's possible to order something while you wait, not at a table, and they'll immediately tell you "yes" and take your order/money. They won't serve alcohol without food ordered and will only provide it all at once, which is of course fair because of the city mandate, but they'll also force you to wait for it off-property and never let you know that the food and/or drink you've ordered is ready. They'll just keep you waiting due to their flagrant disorganization and lack of concern for customers.
They'll also blatantly tell you that you are allowed to eat or drink what you've ordered while you're waiting for a table, but be warned that this is blatantly false. Once you get your order you'll be escorted away from the property, even though you're still waiting for a seat. If consuming a "to go" order on the street while you wait isn't acceptable by city mandate, then that's fine, just don't blatantly lie to customers about it before hand to take their money under false pretenses.
Also, be warned that the queue for a seat means absolutely nothing. The hostess blatantly seated at least two parties who arrived after us, whom she clearly knew personally. This is probably why the estimated wait time you might receive is such a lie.
Go patronize the actual breweries who are making local NYC beer and struggling to stay afloat, and avoid this trashy, lying, money grubbing establishment that won't treat you with any...
