Subway — Restaurant in New York

Management needs to rethink their approach to customers picking up orders…

I walked to the store in the rain asking for an order placed about 30 minutes earlier through the Subway app and already paid for. I stated my name and what I ordered. They didn’t make it because they called the number and no one picked up. I want to emphasize that the order was already paid and included tip. In addition they asked to see my id in which I refused. I showed them the app confirmation and they again refused to service me without seeing my id. Meanwhile 3rd party delivery services can come in and pick up without showing their id… baffling. Regardless the app confirmation page/email should be enough. Even if I did show my id I would then have to wait for it to be made negating the point of ordering ahead and picking up.

I love this location, here is why: Unlike other Subway branches in Brooklyn, the staff here is consistently polite, professional, and accommodating, especially when I call to make special requests. They always prepare my sandwich exactly as requested, which is particularly helpful since some delivery apps don't allow for detailed instructions. Today, Ovi Ahmed went above and beyond, even calling me back to confirm my order details. Every team member I've encountered at this location over the years has been professional and dedicated to providing great customer service. If I could rate this place 0 stars I would do exactly that! After placing my order with the rude guy I sit down an wait for it to be prepared. As I’m waiting for the sandwich I take a quick glimpse at the guy preparing my food an notice he drops something on the ground an quickly picks it back up,I thought nothing of it until I’m eating my sandwich in the restaurant an open up the sandwich to find hair an dirt smothered all over the bread.I then ask the man to please make me a new one an instead he threatens to call the cops an asked me to leave.All because I asked for a clean sandwich.
