Food, service, and prices are the best you can find when it comes to Sushi restaurants, the best one in the Bronx, I say in the Top 10 in the City. I try to get there at least once a month.

Full Update February 18 2020: Ok First things first, I do not work for or have any working relationship with this restaurant or its workers. Now that being said, I love food and I am the kind of person that tries restaurants once and if I like what I get in the form of service and food Quality/Quantity will keep coming back for more. I no longer can have raw fish/seafood so I cannot attest to their variety of raw plates but the ones that I have eaten are above par.

Before I found this place I did a google search of the top sushi places around my area, and this little place was number 3 in The Bronx and on the top 25 places in the whole city....THAT IS IN THE TOP 25 PLACES IN THE BRONX, QUEENS, MANHATTAN AND BROOKLYN.

I love their service regardless if you are eating in or taking out, they are always courteous, friendly and fast. the restaurant has 2 sections to eat in the one in front has tables and chairs and tables and benches, the back part of the restaurant is more Japanese traditional with the small tables that are very close to the floor and where you have to kneel/sit on floor.

The prices of the food are very reasonable, the quality of the food is exceptional, and the presentation of the plates is beautiful.

I have been coming to this little restaurant now for almost 4 years, I try to get my food at least once a month, and even do is hard since I do not have a car and have to take a cab round trip (30 bucks) I need to eat from here.

Now think about that, I am willing to spend 30 bucks to take a cab to eat here when I could just take a quick train hop to go somewhere else closer... That should tell you everything you should know about this place..

my favorite plates are: House special fried rice( I order with soy sauce, but it comes with out) Dragon Roll, California Roll, Zombie Roll, Spicy Kani Roll. Also the Chicken or the Beef Teriyaki Bento Plates among every other thing I...

This place is AMAZING!!!! Have been coming here for quiet some time (I have to drive here)!! Once i discovered this place, i have yet to complain. Nice sushi options, staff is very friendly. Can't stress enough how fresh the raw fish is. Sushi and Sashimi options. To down play some of the negative reviews. If you like california rolls, that's not real sushi but imitation meat. Don't go ordering something you are not prepared for (raw fish). I can't accept the disrespect some ppl come into this establishment with. Will continue coming here. I also seen the comment where someone said there is another sushi spot 2 doors down. If you want to be served at a restuarant notoriously known for their B grade, help yourself. Some of my recommendations at Sugi Sushi are: Rainbow row, spicy tuna roll, steamed shrimp Shumai, miso soup, strawberry soda with the little marble in...

From the outside this place is a little unassuming, but inside, I was very impressed with the food and the feel of the place. There were the little details that allowed you to believe that there was some genuine authenticity to the place. The walls were adorned with Japanese writing - not on a piece of paper taped to the wall, I mean the wall itself had Idiograms on it. I don't know what it all said mind you, but it lent an air of the exotic and a sense of realness to the experience. There was Japanese themed kitsch here and there, not so much to be tacky but enough to again, lend authenticity.

As to the food, the soups were really excellent as was the salad, but of course you want to know about the sushi. It was quite good! Everything tasted fresh, the rice had an excellent chew and the colors were vibrant. Definitely worth a visit for good sushi in a...

This was my first time here with my family. Ever since I moved to the Bronx, I've been on the search for a good sushi restaurant. This restaurant has really fresh fish! We all ordered the sushi roll combo that either comes with a miso soup or salad. The food was a good amount that we were stuffed. Also, they had the special appetizer that was delicious - ribs that they marinated overnight. The ribs were tender and flavorful. We had the fried banana for dessert and thst was amazing! The only thing that you need to know before dining here is that they no longer accept credit cards, CASH ONLY. They have an ATM inside their restaurant, but who wants to pay a surcharge fee?! The wait staff was attentive and helpful with menu recommendations. I will definitely dine in or order from here again.
