Taste of China — Restaurant in New York

We called over the phone to place and order. The lady taking the order was efficient and took the order correctly. Our order was over $95 but when asked what was the free promotion, we were told it was the sweet and sour instead of the higher promotion of sesame chicken.

The restaurant had an ample parking and the food was ready for us when we arrived. They packed it in a giant box. They had a self service station for the condiments and utensils. The food had a faint scent as we drove home.

I ordered the chicken fried rice and it had no flavor. There were a lot of veggies. I like veggies but even I found it too much. And some of the veggies, didn't even have a taste. I felt like the rice needed a bit more salt or flavor.

The chicken and broccoli was a bit sweet. They did give a lot of chicken. The gravy had a lot of oil and it was heavy. The flavor was a bit mild but you can taste the mother sauce versus the ginger or garlic. It wasn't my favorite sauces but it was tasty. My brother liked it more than I did. The chicken were small pieces but was soft.

We got the sweet and sour chicken. The chicken wasn't greasy and the sweet and sour sauce was standard. It wouldn't be surprised if it was bought instead of made in store. The chicken had a lot of dough breading with a small pieces of white meat chicken. I thought it was tasty but wish there were more chicken. If I loved sweet and sour chicken, I would go out of my way to...

I didn't actually eat here, I went with a friend who's vegan and and loves it and says she gets so much for the price plus it's delicious/quality Chinese food and even though I didn't try it myself just looking at it I could tell it was 👌 and I could tell she thought so too when we got to her place which was conveniently only like a 2-3min drive away! Definitely getting some myself next time. She kept trying to get me to have at least rice bc she kept saying how good it was but I had eaten not too long before that and genuinely wasn't hungry so next time I'll be prepared with an empty stomach ready to down some good lookin ish on a dish 👅🍽️. Still giving it 5⭐'s for now tho just bc of how good it looked and smelled lol. We have plans for me to try it in about a week or two and I have a strong feeling that my 5⭐ rating won't change because even though she's a vegan and I'm not and we eat different things she's still showed me so many things I would have never tried on my own and winded up liking them... which is cool and shocking to me LOL 😆. So I'm sure my rating will stay the same, if it stays five then it's a banger & I didn't change it on purpose 🙌

Owner yells on phone ..very disturbing..last week gave stale food I tried to eat but couldn't I order everyday they yell at you but she said this one time she will replace..she is very unprofessional to the public..the food was better when replaced it but made me very upset that i requested to change it because she yells..I think the food was old even noodles were stale called the following day again yells hangs up and states will not serve because I make trouble..therevis no point in telling this woman to try and changev..wont..will remain unprofessional and just continue behavior of yelling screaming...
