Tex's Chicken & Burgers — Restaurant in New York

I ordered regular chicken and received spicy chicken. I requested to get my order replaced and I had to wait at least 30 minutes for a fresh batch of regular chicken. Once again I received spicy chicken so I requested a refund at that point. The cashier claimed I couldn't get a refund from the restaurant because I ordered from the app. Problem is that the app doesn't let you refund your money. Therefore, I had to wait ANOTHER 30 minutes for my chicken. I requested mild chicken once again I received spicy chicken. The female employee with glasses began intensely arguing with about my order and demanded that I taste the chicken to show that it was mild. There is a clear color difference between spicy and regular. The employee thought I was stupid because she stated that legs are dark meat. Once again, I suffered burning in my throat from the spicy chicken that I never ordered that was requested to be tasted and it was spicy. ONCE AGAIN I HAD TO WAIT ANOTHER 30 MINUTES for my chicken because I couldn't get my money back. As I watched the new mild batch came out, an employee requested that I tasted the next batch before I have. After waiting 2 hours, I finally received mild chicken. I will NEVER return to this location if I have to deal with employees wrong orders and arguing with me about my wrong order. As far as there female employee, she had a lot of audacity to even raise her voice at me when it was the employees that stayed wreckless.

What was really disappointing was that many customers purchased regular pieces and I still had to wait while those customers were receiving their correct orders that included legs.

It’s taken me a while to find time to write my thoughts but I did not want time to continue flying by without the great recognition. First I must talk about the reason why my boyfriend & I come in here at least 1-2x/week…Between Maryam & Caroline, no competition but both of these stunning women takes the cake! From the moment you step in, they always greet us & do not think this is favoritism because we have witnessed countless times the charisma these ladies have shown to other guests as well. Just recognize when it’s in their nature of who they are. They are the epitome of “give me a reason to come back”. They have our order like the back of their hands & it’s always loving & warm speaking with them. They make you feel heard, make suggestions when needed & ALWAYS, Truly mean ALWAYS carries themselves w/ a smile. Their kindness & hard work MUST NOT go unnoticed. There’s so much evil in the world. To be able to walk in a place, order with great & patient cashiers is more than fulfilling! The minute you walk in there’s never any trash on the floors, the tables are always clean & the napkin/straw dispenser is always stocked. It’s always a memorable experience EVERYTIME I walk in- from the warm welcomings to the delightful conversations! Beyond the food being Always fresh & made with love, I Would Never Come As Often As I Do If It Was Not For Maryam & Caroline. Their smiles warm up the entire room, their energy is Vibrant & positive! I've been to this location 3 times and my first experience was ok. The following 2 visits were not pleasant at all, not because of the food, but because of the staff members, particularly this little short woman working there. She has a rude attitude and is terrible at customer service. On my last visit, she was preparing my food by throwing items in boxes and slamming things around huffing and puffing like it was an inconvenience for her. Mind you, at that particular moment, I was the only customer at the time. This woman wasn't even the one taking my transaction because she was cleaning the restaurant. She stopped what she was doing to complete the other staff member's job with that nasty attitude. At least the other staff member was friendly. However, considering my last visits, I doubt I would be returning. I am only giving 1 star for this review simply because the food served to me was hot. Customer service goes a long way and I refuse to be treated like garbage or like I provoked an employee when I was 100% polite and respectful. My first experience at this location was great, but the ones following were not. What's the difference? That rude employee.
