Upper Dem Express is my home away from home when it comes to the Guyanese cuisine that I know and cherish! The menu is simple and sweet keeping with all the things you will find at a snackette in any part of Guyana, with a breakfast menu that will remind your that bacon egg and cheese on a bagel isn’t a Guyanese thing.
They are located on Utica Avenue between Church and Synder and deliver to zip code 11203 , Crown Heights, East Flashbush and Canarsie.
From the menu tasted and devoured the following:
Split peas cook up with bake chicken Fish cake Eggball Puri Pholouri Pin wheel (mince swirl) Chicken foot (the savory snack) White and Black pudding (made to order!)
Yeah yeah I know it’s a lot but I couldn’t help myself!
Every morsel I consumed had me doing a happy dance. I no longer have to wait until I’m in Linden, Guyana to enjoy.
Prices are great and staff are very friendly and polite! The shop is clean and inviting with a lot of sunlight beaming through.
I can’t get enough of Upper Dem Express and I can’t wait to place my next order with them :)...
Read moreMy Family ordered roti from this restaurant for our family reunion. Money was paid in full for over two weeks prior to the event and when the person arrived to pick up the roti on date he was told that we didn’t confirm and they didn’t have the roti. What disappointment that was. What business takes a full payment and don’t have your product ready when you arrived?. The payment is confirmation no one needs to call and remind you for an item when a full payment was made. It’s like me buying a ticket for an airline and when I get to the airport to be told I didn’t confirm my flight. Who does that? We are living in a new era no one have to call to confirm anything when paid in full. We believe that you guys sold out the roti and then making excuses for your damage. Upper Dem y’all need to get yourselves together, whom ever is taking orders needs to do better. Our first time using your business and what a terrible...
Read moreDon't know why Caribbean restaurants tend to serve their regular customers before a new customer even though you were there before them I never understand the logic of that it's like they don't want to have new customers just their regulars. Example I went there after work to check it out and a guy was behind me then he took the black pudding from the counter and placed it at the register where I was standing then the lady started bagging his stuff and he's telling her to add two pine tarts in the bag like I wasn't standing there but I guess she saw my facial expression under the mask because she was just stalling with my stuff and his then another cashier came from the back and asked it what he wanted and cashed him out. He had to stretch his hand over me because I wasn't moving either way he was finished before me and left eventhough he...
