Valencia Bakery — Restaurant in New York

We ordered a cake for my daughters 18th birthday. Customer service was great, and they was able to execute the cake design the way we wanted. The cake was beautiful except for when it was time to cut into the cake and eat it.. The cake was old and tasted stale it just wasn’t good. It was so disappointing that we couldn’t enjoy the cake. We pretty much paid for the look of the cake. We was looking forward to enjoying it and unfortunately we couldn’t. It was not edible. This wasn’t a cheap cake so to pay for something we couldn’t enjoy and eat was unfortunate. We’ve had a Valencia’s cake from a different location for my wedding cake that turned out great and tasted fresh. I’m unsure if it was because we went to this location it was a bad batch. Either way very disappointing. 12/15/2023 owner replied to my review, I stand by my review because it was an old cake. It was not fresh at all. It would’ve been great to have a cake taste as good as it looks but that wasn’t the case. Unfortunately we had to throw the cake out the very next day and was unable to eat any of it. I have been calling for over week to make a reservation for a pick up of there regular pineapple cake. I understand it may not be necessary for that size and flavor to do so but I have had terrible experiences with this place in the past.. not having the cake or closing when they feel like it regardless of posted business time...and this is for travel by plane not around the corner...so being prepared is a must...When I called the first time I was told by a very rude guy he was too busy and that I had plenty if time to make the reservation. I call today and the same rude person picked up before finishing my first statement he was asking for credit card which they never needed in the past...He would not let me speak at all and ended up hanging up. I am having the cake brought to me by plane which isn't cheap and they have no considerations for customer service... Horrible Service and Manners I will make it point that this is known everywhere...

I ordered a cake from this bakery for my daughter’s 6th birthday. Everyone loved Valencia cakes back then! It’s sad to say the cake that I ordered was HORRIBLE! I definitely should’ve read the reviews before placing an order, but I found the bakery in my area and decided to give it a try being that it’s a childhood staple when I was a kid. The presentation of the cake was really nice, but the taste of the cake was disgusting. The cake was dry, the vanilla filling was bland and tasted like straight eggs. I was so disappointed because my family loves cake and nobody enjoyed it. I threw it out. Waste of money.

I’m not writing this review to bash this business, but to advise you guys if you don’t want to go out of business you need to do better. It’s crucial in a business to value people’s money so your customers are left satisfied and want to come back. I will not be ordering from here again and won’t be...
