This place is incredible! This was my first visit, and metered parking wasn't friendly. At first I went to their old location which was closed but there was a sign & a young man handing out paper directions to the new place. If you're a New Yorker and pay ridridiculous amounts of money to live in this city, then you have to try every kind of cuisine from every cultural diaspora. That's what makes NYC magical! I love African cuisine, my favorite being Senegalese, but listen, Ghanaian is now my second! The swallow variety is crazy! And being that I'm recovering from tonsillitis, my throat was in heaven! The food is sooo comforting & delicious. I'm so happy they have expanded because I'm sure their business is going to blow up as more people try this cuisine. The service I received was outstanding! I told the young lady I wasn't familiar with the menu, and she whipped around, came out & started answering all my questions. All the meats are halal, so you know it's good quality. I ended up getting fried fish okra stew with tuo zaafi, a swallow made of cassava ($16), and a lamb egusi soup with kenkey, a swallow made of corn ($16). I wanted to try the banku but it wasn't ready. I also got a side of beans & plantains ($5 ea.) I paid with Samsung pay and promised to be back. Let me tell you! I got soooo much food! The portions are ridiculous. I started with my fish okra soup & it was amazing! I had some of the lamb egusi soup but I'm not a big fan of lamb, but it was good. I've never had such flavors and textures dancing in my mouth. The beans are black eyed & it was also delicious. The plantains were made fresh, they weren't mushy & very yummy! There's enough food to last a week! You must give Ghanaian cuisine a try! I'll definitely...
Read moreFirst & foremost the nastiest of attitudes goes to the big dark-skinned lady that serviced me & was in the back talking in her native tongue after a miscommunication with me today. I asked for Banku soup she had the lowest tone when responding so I had to keep saying I couldn’t hear her. She asked me with what I wanted it with (I’m assuming it automatically comes with fufu as shown on the dash because what do you eat Banku soup with??) My point exactly. Mind you I still couldn't hear her, so she and I brushed it off. So, she got mad when I asked her to check out if she could add it in. She gave me two fufu but one tasted sour and was hard. Hope I do not get sick or receive food poisoning from this fufu.

Read moreIt’s hard to enjoy a good meal when it was served to you with the nastiest customer service ever. To the owner of this place: it’s your responsibility to make sure you hire respectful ppl, which means soon enough they will kill your hard earned business. Your employees have no manners whatsoever, they act like if they are so forced to b there. I used to go to this place at least twice a week, then once a week then once a month. Last time I was there, well, that was my last time and won’t be back there no more because this new employee looked at me dead in the eye and told me she won’t serve me since the restaurant closes at 10:30 and it’s 10 O’clock and the food is literally sitting on the steam table. I mean, would she rather save the food for tomorrow stead of selling it today?!!!!. Another thing, Mr. Owner: learn from next door to you(Accra), they used to be the same disrespectful employees to their customers until everybody left them. YOU’RE NEXT!!!! Ppl are talking all over about the situation, it’s just about time until they find...
