Ambassador Fish and Chicken — Restaurant in Newark

Normally I do not take the time to review today.... I felt the need to explain why it was 4 stars and not 5. First... I love that the establishment is owned by Muslims... they are believers in God. Mashallah! I have been going to their business since they were by the laundromat in the plaza on south orange ave. Great people they are... Certain cashiers are making them lose stars.... example the female today at the counter was pleasant with responding to customers... she however had long braids with no hair net... ponytail bun... etc... I am a woman of color who wears braids occasionally... braids are not the problem... IT IS A SANITARY MANNER TO KEEP YOUR HAIR WHEN IT IS LONG AND YOU ARE WORKING AROUND FOOD... For example she had to go to the back where the food was fried to take tickets... as she was walking her hair was swinging on the steel counter. And it made me extremely uncomfortable. Yes Non Muslims are more than invited to be served in a halal establishment and Yes the staff should exhibit halal ethics as well. When around food and the hair is long... it should be tied in a ponytail... bun or hair net. I live 2 blocks away... we all do not approve of disorder... we love entering an establishment that exhibits workers with excellent customer service and show respect towards the work environment and the people who they are serving regardless of who you are surrounded by. Beggars are their and so are professionals businesspeople etc. And everyone enters to enjoy the food. Word of mouth carries and customer service...

Great food ....Oh but the prices. The food at this establishment is very good. If you love fried food this is the spot for you. This place always has a long line to get food. Trust me when I say that, “If you need fried chicken to serve doing a meeting or dinner party. This is the chicken you want to serve”. I guarantee if you purchase a large tray of chicken. You won’t have a piece of chicken left over. Yes, it’s that good. We have purchased plenty of food from here. Trust me there is never any leftovers after our meeting. They make Mac and cheese but it’s not your mama, but it will do. They make good yams and cakes. They also serve fried fish and French fries and various other types of foods. Unfortunately I cannot write down their entire menu for you. As for their collar greens they’re okay. I just don’t trust anyone else’s collar greens 🥬 but my own. The owners are very quite. They don’t converse with their clients. They are all about business. This is not and eat in establishment so there are no rest rooms available. I would not call this place fancy by anyone standards. However they do keep it clean. It’s wheelchair accessible and the menu is easy to read. The area is not one of the greatest places to be. They do delivery and they open from 12pm-...

Ok. So. One of the staff members became impatient because i made a complaint of my 10 piece wing being fried to hard. I should have ask for my money back..thought he would refry a bit softer..as i tried to reason with him..he hastily snach the 10 peice from me and gave another complaining to me about..all chicken will be the same..bottom line..i will never visit this location again..customer service is very brutal and disgusting..mind you all, for $12.26.. it seems some merchants and customer service personnel will treat customers like the money u pay...
