I have no idea what West African food is supposed to taste like. With that in mind, I ordered the beans and plantains/fried bananas and then asked if he had any rice because I typically eat rice when I have beans. He said yes and pointed to something on the menu that also had fish with it. So I ordered the rice with chicken. The person I was with ordered a goat meat stew. The rice was flavorful, had subtle spices and herbs that I cannot identify. The beans looks like a black eye pea. They had a slight smoky flavor to it. Not as strong smoky as I had in Belize, which was cooked on an open fire. Zach gives me the thought that these were also cooked on a charcoal fire if that is possible in New Jersey. The fried plantains were exactly as I expected sweet, very sweet. The chicken was good, mostly dark meat. That means that the chicken was flavorful. Yes the chicken was dry. We got there at 11:30 in the morning. The food reminded me of something that I would get while traveling in Central America. And that was exactly what I was looking for. Why did I give the atmosphere two stars, because I believe the place is more centered around takeout food than wine and dine. Yes if I am ever in the area again, I would strongly consider going again. I have no idea how much each item cost because there were no prices on the menu. The three items plus water and juice with a 15% tip came to a couple pennies under $60. One last thing to mention, I did try the goat, and there was a moderate to strong dried fish flavor.

The food was totally worth the drive from Malvern, PA. Good music, great services, kind people...the washroom was fairly clean with water and hand soap available (that was a huge plus). As for the Chofi, it's authentic Ghanaian Chofi for whoever is wondering how good it was. P.S. they are moving to a new location, please find them if you're craving some authentic Ghanaian delicacies.

If you are looking for a Ghanaian food that takes you straight to Ghana, it’s this place. The food was amazing and a lot. I will recommend this place. The Waakye, fufui, banku, tilapia and fried yams are amazing i almost forgot they have Jollof and other dishes as well.

I used to live in Newark and frequently bought food from Aunty Lizzy when she was in the food truck. Food was A+++. I had family visit from Ghana and Canada and it was all they wanted to eat for three days straight! Now I live in Bergen County, about 45 minutes away, so I only eat from Aunty Lizzy once every few months, and I must say the last three times have all been DISAPPOINTING! Grilled Tilapia does not taste good at all... it lacks seasoning! I was given banku even though I asked for Kenkey and I didn't realize the mistake till I got home. The banku smelled burned, like it was from the bottom of the pot, and it did not taste good, like the dough used was not properly fermented and had no salt! We also got waakye and that was ok. Not great as before, but ok. So that's why I gave her two stars. Prices have gone up but I understand that cos everything is pricier these days. But with her increase in price, she should have kept the quality also higher, or at least same as before. Food was great in the past that I would have driven an hour to get to her. Now, I no longer feel like this place is worth me driving 10mins, let alone almost 1 hour!! Next time, I'll just use the time to make my own waakye and...

I used to love their food when they were in the truck but since they move to the actual restaurant there has always been a problem. I make sure that I call at least 30 mins before going there to get my food. I shouldn’t have to get there and still have to wait an hour. I got sick the other day from her jollof rice and today I went to grab tz got home just to find the green soup tasting and smelling like burnt food. It seems like it was from the bottom of the pot. The whole food was just a bad. I called them to let them know and she’s telling me she doesn’t know what am talking about. I’m so disappointed because as Ghanaian we should do better than this. I only called them to let them know that wasn’t right but for them to act like I don’t know what am talking about is very disrespectful; I know how the food is suppose to taste like and I know when the food is burnt. Everybody at the restaurant was complaining about how long they have to wait just to get their food. This is not good...
