Corona Health Food — Restaurant in Newark

Corona Health Food does have a wide variety of healthy, effective items. HOWEVER, they are ripping off our neighborhood. I had been going to their location for years. What grabbed my attention initially was the sour sop drink. I purchased it at $25.99, it took me about a month to finish it. When I returned for more the price had gone up to $35.99 for the same exact bottle. I wanted more so bad, that I brought the empty bottle back with their HAND WRITTEN price on it, to prove what I payed prior. The elder lady acted as if she had no clue.

Next, was the chlorophyll, I’d always buy the $7.99 16 oz bottle, that same exact bottle also went up to $8.99 then to $9.99 in a matter of months. As of May 2024 they no longer carry that brand but offer an alternate for $16.99 - $20.00. Same size 16 oz bottle just a different label/ brand.

Finally, I payed $35.00 for a box of Green Vibrance 15 packs in a box. That price is now $45 a box or $3.99 for an individual pack. That was my last time going in the store in support. I brought the same box of Green Vibrance off Amazon Prime for $32.00 with free shipping. They will never get a red cent from me again.. PRICE GOUGERS.

Corona Health Food Store needs to be audited. I am sure by LAW, prices don’t raise as high and as often as they do. Someone please check them out, question their frequent customers, do some secret shopping and witness how they are ripping off a poverty stricken community.. SHUT THEM DOWN. They are not HONEST business owners at all.

The service from the youngest guy in there was simply an unpleasant and horrible. His energy was very cold...he treated me as if he was doing me a favor by serving me, like my money dont spend good in the buisness...i ask for a list of herbs the first herbs I asked if it came in a powder form he says no...after my order was passed on to someone to fetch...i then asked if any of the other three herds come in powder form...he says yes one and then says to me if you want powder next time say u want powder in the beginning...i said i did however because of the lack of positive energy and communication...he pointed out fault on me instead of taking responsibility like a good customer servant he wants to just go back forth with me smh! I will never go there again nor will I suggest that buisness to anyone...I try to support black owned businesses but you have bitter ma and pa buisneses like this that makes it hard for good people to support there buisness because of poor customer service and a lack communication and...

I’ve patronized this establishment on several occasions. I felt more comfortable when Dread worked here now it gives off a “What do you want” vibe. They are servicing with a very UNPLEASANT disposition. If you’re knowledgeable about what you need I’d suggest going here if you’re not please don’t even waste your time. I prefer going to the Herbal Teahouse who happens to be the owners sister. She’s much more intuitive and wants to help.
