Lancer's Restaurant — Restaurant in Newark

Food was great, the DJ was amazing (they had a live band as well), the only issues I had was with the waitress and parking attendant. I ordered 2 picadillo plates. They were a little pricey but worth the money. When I came back to our table from dancing, our waitress had removed the plate that I paid a lot of money for. When I asked her why she took the plate, she blamed it on my friend, who said that she was not paying attention to the plate and when she looked, the waitress already had the plate in her hand taking away. Then I bought a Birthday cake for my mom to surprise her, and once again, the waitress threw away the box without informing us. We had to squeeze the rest of the cake into a smaller box. They definitely need more staff. We had a party of 20 and had to constantly wait for drinks and food. We had reserved the table weeks in advance. Also, the parking attendant came to our table demanding the keys to one of our guest vehicle. He was very rude and bullying toward my guest. I had to step in between them so as not to witness a fight. All he had to do was ask nicely, could we move the car. Overall, we had a good time, but the service could definitely improve, especially for the amount of money they charge. A water bottle was $6!! They are very pricey. The original lady that we spoke to was nice and helped us out. I would definitely recommend this place, just not...

Im only rating one star because I had to but this place was terrible. First, you have to pay a cover charge to eat at the restaurant which I found ridiculous. Secondly no one speaks English nor Spanish so it’s very hard to communicate with anyone. We had an issue because we made a reservation and we had a baby with us but no one mentioned to us that they couldn’t be any children in past 9:30 mind you the reservation was for 8:30. The food wasn’t all that either and the valet service was terrible. I parked my own car, then when it was time to leave I was waiting for 30 mins because they pile all the cars in one small parking lot and the valet attendant had to pull all these cars out to get one car out. Which was ridiculous because he wasn’t going in the order in which you requested your car. He was asking the men who requested their car to give him $5 dollars and then he would take the car out. Mind you they advertise free parking. He didn’t ask me for any money but he also made me wait for 30 mins then asked me why I was so upset with him. I wouldn’t recommend this...

This place used to be really nice good food, good music good atmosphere, but it is going from good to be ok and now is bad, they have 2 groups one was good the other always bad they will play this horrible Dominican music with a singer that screams on the stage she takes her heels off and changes to sleepers yes sleepers and 2 male dancers-singers just ridiculous they jump I don’t get what type of dance moves they are trying to do the sound is terrible you get a headache is like they don’t care about the clients the other group use to be from South America they where good their music was nice a combo of different styles merengue salsa cumbia bachata, only the singer is left from them now they don’t sound good neither. The regular crowd that used to go don’t go there no more people go on sneakers, work clothes just terrible you feel insulted, the service in the other hand is the only good thing left at Lancers, they are very nice they go out of their way to make you feel good.
