Mommy's Dominican Cakes — Restaurant in Newark

The cake that my sister in law brings to our birthday celebration was delicious twice she brings up the cake and it was good but I drive from queens new york to go and get some cake to get something that was horrible dry the frosting was soooo sweet and stick the cake was horrible bad I guess they give use two cakes some one left behind and was so hard and no flavor I strongly belive it was old cake that they did sale I dont know why they do that because I expecific told her what I want it they said they just have only two 1 dulce de leche and pineapples and 1 plain dulce de leche ,they didn't want to do the guava cake i ask she said if I do a guava will be 45.00 because we don't have nothing else done i call with a day in advance to get a fresh cake not a all one that they don't sale and was old just waiting on some one to full and take of advantage of you this o have to drive 1:15 hrs paia a toll of 28.00 dollars all together to go that far to get a old pass do cake instead of being honest is horrible cakes...

I am Dominican. Not natively born, but lived in DR for a few years while young. Now, I love myself some Dominican (experienced writer here)!!! I preface this to say...its not a very good rendering of traditional Dominican cakes. However, its not worst either. Its just meh...I was sent here as I was in the neighboring area. Please don't judge the Doña (owner). She is older, limited, and yes, we should always be respectful (even when they are not)! I can tell she tries hard. I walked in an she ignored my presence for about 10 mins before addressing me (she was on the phone). I waited patiently and gave her a smile and received one in return. Yey! If you want a really good Dominican cake go to Grinny's in Paterson! They are moist, have a huge selection, flavors and offer lots of styles. They service you best in person, but call for hours before you arrive. You will never have to wonder if your cake will be on-time, excellent and not stale. Happy...

We ordered my daughter’s Sweet 16 cake from Mommy’s Bakery and had the absolute pleasure of working with Jackeline. From start to finish, she was so professional, attentive, and diligent—making sure every detail was perfect and even coordinating the delivery flawlessly. The cake itself was stunning, beautifully decorated, and exactly what we envisioned. Not only was it gorgeous, but it was also fresh, moist, and absolutely delicious—our guests couldn’t stop complimenting it! On top of that, the customer service was truly outstanding. Jackeline went above and beyond to make the whole process stress-free and enjoyable. We are so grateful and will definitely be returning for future celebrations. Highly recommend!
