Decor is OK, the building is not as clean as it should be with some maintenance needed to the tiles and such.
Service is spotty depending on who you get working the window, Yesterdays girl was a bit ditzy and I had to repeat the order three times, now in all fairness the speaker sounded pretty bad . Always check the order before you leave the window as they have a habit of forgetting, or perhaps not hearing, everything on the order. It really makes me mad when I get all the way home and realize that they have left out a sandwich. This has happened to me twice, I called and they made it right, but still a major pain in the butt as far as I am concerned.
Prices are good, that's why I go there, I especially like the “Two for $5” deals.
Food quality lately has actually been pretty darn good, the Big Buford, fries, milkshakes, and especially the Big Chicken and Spicy Chicken have been very good. There is something about a chicken sandwich when it is hot, crispy on the outside, hanging off the bun on multiple sides and the sandwich is made correctly with the bacon, lettuce, tomato, and mayo all looking and tasting fresh. I have to go to 21st Street often for errands and like to grab a Baconzilla or Chicken sandwich at lunchtime. The food quality has been consistent.
Overall one of the better fast food restaurants in Newark, not perfect, but still much better than most, and I can forgive a mistake once in a while for $5. Upgrade from 1 star to 4.

Ordered; 3 Big Buford burgers, 2 Big Chicken sandwiches, 3 Small fires. Get up to the window and asked the girl to repeat the order back to me. 3 Big Buford burgers, 2 Big Chicken sandwiches, 3 Small fires. Get the bag, my wife looks inside and says it's dark, but it looks like everything's here. We get home and guess what? Short a burger. GRRRR. They sure as heck charged me for it. I am starting to believe that the way that these places increase their profitability is to leave something out or off every order, last time I went to Rallys they shorted me a chili dog....
Read moreOrdered 4 sandwiches and 2 fries. Pulled up to window and everyone was playing having a good time. Sat there for a couple minutes and finally got our food missing 2 sandwiches. So had to sit there even longer waiting. No offer to give us anything for the mistake. So almost 10 minutes watching their employees playing and food cold while waiting for them to make the other sandwiches they forgot. Not happy with food or service at all. Made mistake of going again. Two cars ahead of us. The lady taking the order tells the person ordering to repeat the whole order that she didn't get any of it. Sat there for awhile. Finally next car. Repeat order again. Finally we pull up. Had to repeat order three times. Still handing out food to first vehicle. After well over 10 minutes we pull up to window and are told they have no change so I have to have correct amount or I have to round up to next dollar! So I have to pay more? Crazy. Finally pay and the lady goes to make out strawberry cheesecake ice cream thing. That takes a good 5 minutes. Thinking that the nightmare is almost over she hands me our food and the strawberry thing and closes the door. No drinks. This place needs to find some real management or close the door. Almost a half hour to get food at a fast food place is just wrong. And what happened with...
Read moreI'd love to know who the franchise owner is of the Rally's on North 21st Street in Newark, Ohio. I don't know how you can possibly be making money. I can't even begin to tell you how many times we've been to Rally's and Haven't been able to place an order. Here's the reasons:
They have no change. They only get change once a week. So, if you don't have the exact change, you can't order. The debit card machine is down. The computer is down. The ice cream machine isn't working. We're out of mix for the ice cream machine. It's to hot to make anything . So, we're not opening. We don't have enough staff to open. This is what the sign said on the speaker tonight at 11:00 p.m. On October 10,2021. I actually took a picture of the sign. This totally amazes me.The girl that was there, came on the speaker and said: Sorry we're closed. We don't have enough help. This is why places like this, go out of business. It's called: POOR Management. If I was Rally's. I'd definitely, be checking this place out, and see...
