I played this recently redesigned course yesterday and I was pleasantly surprised with how much the course has improved. A lot of time and careful planning went into maximizing every square in of this small piece of land to make this golf course more enjoyable and fun for golfers and in my opinion, they succeeded. Take for example the decision to turn #3, a round killing Par 5 with OB right, and turn it into a short Par 4 and a short Par 3 to keep the round moving. It was a great idea and well executed with the heavily contoured greens. The new greens and bunkers all over the course are great. The best new hole on the course is the amazing Par 5 #16. You can tell a lot of work went into creating this hole and boy was it worth it. It turned out gorgeous. All of this did come with some compromises, the biggest being the shortening of many of the Par 4’s. I played the tips and only used driver on a small number of holes since the holes were barely 300 yards and it was just too risky. You have to be smart and conservative off the tee if you want to shoot a low score here. My biggest complaint is the ridiculous green they made on #12. The green slopes from back to front at an extreme slope, and there’s a ridge running down the middle. They decided to place the flag on the ridge making all putts next to impossible. We all 4 putted from inside of 15 feet. (Not fun) Other than that, the new course is...
Read moreThe golf course itself is not so bad, very easy, however my number one complaint is Etiquette or lack thereof. People who play here have no idea how to act right. You hit your ball 3 feet off the fairway, it will be picked up (don't use PRO V1s in Newark). I had to literally yell at people who pretended like it was their ball 3 times ! When you hear "FORE!!!" take it seriously. It's not a ball lofted up in the air coming down next to you, its a line drive at your skull and you might die. People loose everything, some guy left a whole cooler on the hole before lol... there were clubs missing, guys asking for clubs, gloves.. its a mess. Level of play is poor, before you tee off you most likely will have to wait for someone to hit their ball from your fairway into theirs. I saw an altercation lmao, two guys got into it not sure why but it's consistent with the vibes. I will go back to mess around but if you take your game seriously and dont' want to be frustrated with poor etiquette and searching for 10 min for a ball that was taken,...
Read more2 gentlemen who work at the front are amazing … guy that sits at hole 1 and the ranger not sure his name very rude nothing on the website states you NEED to bring your own clubs I was sharing with a friend but they insisted it was a policy so I went inside the guy at the front desk was as confused as I was and gave them to us for free we don’t even touch these terrible clubs they give us then a ranger comes out on the 11th hole demanding we pay 30 dollars on Venmo or cash and I politely tell him I don’t have cash or Venmo on me I can pay card and he tells me no and that it’s a county policy that I need to pay but I can’t pay through the card machine after going back and forth for 20 min and him repeating the same thing over and over with no actual policy in place this place is a scam the rangers will try to run you for your money. I went through the hole county policy and nothing states that you need to bring your own clubs. Idk what park of professional that is coming out on the 11th hole demanding 30 dollars in cash but your out...
