Great little Thai restaurant in Newmarket. And I mean little, as there are 5 or 6 tables. I was passing thru at lunch and got the pan fried dumplings and Tom Kha Gai soup. Delicious. But the cashier gave my food to someone else who paid for it and needed to be refunded. And they were out of take out menus and plastic cutlery. That little mishap aside, I came on the recommendation of friends, and would probably stop by again if I'm in the area.
**2nd time- dine in experience was excellent. Tea was served when we were seated, fragrant and hit on a cold winter day. We had bowls if the Noodle Tom Yum with chicken, and an order of crab Rangoon. A plate if sprouts, fresh basic leaves and fresh cut lI'm wedges was served so we could dress the soup. If you want an extra kick, ask for the hot pepper oil and start with a small spoonful -it kicks up the flavor of the already delicious noodles and broth. The chicken was more tender the longer it sat in the broth. Worth a visit -eat...
Read morePad kee mow (drunken noodles) is literally sweet, filled with vegetables and very few extremely overcooked wide noodles and tastes just like the pad see ew. The only flavor in the pad thai is the peanuts on top. The green curry has pretty good flavor but is chunky. The fried rice has no flavor. The broth in the pho is decent but they don't offer the right noodles (it makes a difference). I've been trying to enjoy this food here for 3 years and its just not good. I've had most things on the menu but I only listed what I think are popular dishes here. The flavors are off and inconsistent. How in the world are my drunken noodles sweet? I've spent a lot of time on Thailand and other southeast Asian countries (vietnam included) and this just is not authentic food. Also, if i try to order they food online through the 2 ordering platform they offer, the prices are almost double. What is up with that?? I've mentioned...
Read more"This is the best restaurant in the entire world." This exact quote can be heard by me every time I decide to dine here. Although I have not had the luxury of trying every place in the world, I've tried most establishments in the area. This is by far my favorite one! They have better spicy wings than actual wing spots, as well as better "Chinese food" staples than other Chinese restaurants. On top of that they have plenty of authentic Thai dishes. The service has never been less than friendly and efficient and the food is always hot, fresh, and delicious. I rented an apartment above Basil Leaf for several years AFTER trying their food and stayed longer in my rental than I wanted, partially because I didn't want to give this gem up. Do yourself a favor, whether it's takeout or dine in, try your favorite Thai dish here, because it doesn't...
