I met my son's family there on Friday to spend time with them and enjoy some food. Unfortunately, it didn't go well. First of all, our waiter did not have a good grasp of the English language and got the food orders wrong. We didn't complain. We just ate what he brought us. Please understand that I'm totally fine with immigrants and believe they contribute greatly to society. However, if they're going to wait on people, then they need to be able to understand English a little bit. Then when we received the bill, there were charges for 3 drinks and a tableside guacamole that we didn't order or receive. But my son went a head and put his credit card in the holder with our bill and told the waiter to just correct those items and then run his card. Huge mistake. He comes back 5 minutes later with a revised bill but no credit card. We explained the card was already in the holder but he disagreed. The manager then came over and we tried to explain to him that the waiter already took his credit card. I told the manager multiple times to check the cameras. However, he repeatedly insisted that we check our wallets for the missing card. They looked through some other check holders but don't initially find the card. Most upsettingly, the manager and staff were acting like we were trying to get out of paying. We were very close to calling the police. Then, after about 30 minutes the waiter walks up holding my son's credit card. Apparently, he had sat down the check holder that had my son's card in it and someone else there grabbed it. Then, both the manager and waiter said "sorry" and stuck out there hands to shake mine. Hell no! That didn't make any part of this awful experience better. I told them that it's not okay to treat us like liars and thieves when it was their mistake, then just say sorry and expect it to be fine. They didn't try to make it right in any way after the way we were treated. This used to be my favorite Mexican restaurant but I won't eat...
Read moreI love leaving positive reviews, especially when excellence demands it… and everything about our visit demanded it. We ordered cheese dip and table side guac as starters. The cheese dip with the deliciously buttery queso that pairs perfectly with everything. Table side guacamole was not only amazing, but achieved the balance between a hint of spice, enough lime and salt that it hit the fresh notes, and chunky without being overwhelming for the chips. I could live on this guacamole and be happy. For dinner, every single plate we saw delivered around us was appetizing and filled with flavor. When our turn to order came, we ordered birria tacos and Texas style molcajete tacos. Birria tacos landed on top as both of our personal favorites. The amount of brisket, cilantro, the fresh green salsa, and the corn tortillas was deliciously seasoned to perfection. For the molcajete tacos, Texas style included shrimp, chicken, steak, and chorizo all served with an ample topping of melted cheese. It was utterly decadent, perfectly seasoned as well, served with a side plate similar to fajitas. I told my friend as we were debating when we’d eat again, that this experience reminded me again of just how fueling your body can be such a rich and flavorful experience. Heck, even the salsa on the tables needed no augmentation. It was by far and away one of my favorite dinners I’ve had in a looooooong time. And as someone who claims Mexican food to be my favorite- that’s a huge praise indeed. Oh and despite being newly opened and wildly busy- our server was attentive, kind, and checked in repeatedly to ensure we not only enjoyed our food but had enough chips, salsa,...
Read moreI had my daughter dinner here yesterday and I asked about having the inside patio and outside patio just incase we had to many people that help came to celebrate. I spoke to the manager Gabriel and he was sooo nice about the whole thing and said it was no problem! I asked him over the phone before reserving our spots and I asked at the dinner and his answer was still the same. Our server Jossy was very rude and asked me how many folks is still coming after she seen we had a nice size of people coming to help celebrate my daughter birthday and I did tell her our conversation about the outside patio. Some how she changed the manager mind and spoke for him and said that they have other customers to sit and they need the outside patio to stay available. Mind you the inside was no where near packed so they still had space We are paying customers as well just like any other customers that walked through that door. I confronted the manager in front of the servers that were standing around and told him he just told me a few mins ago it was okay and even before I reserved to eat at this place. He didn't say nothing he stood there and stared at me and allowed Jossy to speak for him and she was rude.
I'm not downing this restraunts this is my experience, but some of the servers there are rude and I definitely encountered some. The manager has an awesome attitude, but he didn't keep his word or stand up for what he said to me. There's a difference in server and manager and I felt like he allowed the server to say whatever she wanted instead of keeping his word...
