Mario's Pizza — Restaurant in Newport Beach

Visited Newport out of town. Thought it would be nice to order and have lunch on the beach. Ordered online for curbside pick up for pickup after 215pm. Website stated order would be ready between 215-230 (exactly what we needed) and to call when arrived for curbside delivery. Received notification food was ready a few minutes before 2pm (ok not gonna “complain” that food was early- but there are reasons that it was request food to be ready after a certain time). Arrived and called letting them know we had arrived for mobile order for curbside delivery. Lady employee said “yea it’s ready” and hung up. Went inside and was handed food without any verification and attempted to tell the man handing over order that the person I spoke on the phone was rude and even hung up on me. His response was to chuckle and say “no worries”. The food was not even good making it an all over poor experience. Everyone is entitled to a bad day but the experience as a whole makes this a place we will not come back to and...

I recently had the pleasure of dining at Mario’s located in Newport Beach, and it was an experience worth sharing. The menu at Mario’s is extensive, offering a wide variety of classic and specialty pizzas, along with a good selection of salads, pastas, and appetizers. I have been there many times in the past and had the opportunity to try a variety of pizzas and pastas selection offered on the menu. This place does not disappoint!! In addition to the fantastic pizza/pasta, the service at Mario’s is top-notch. The staff is attentive and courteous. The casual, family-friendly atmosphere made it a great place to relax and enjoy a meal with friends or family. The pricing is reasonable for the quality of food and service you receive, making it a great value for the money. We had lunch here on Saturday. There is ample parking. The restaurant itself is small and quaint. A charming place for a home cooked Italian meal.

We started with an antipasto salad. The salad was large enough for 3 or 4 people. We then split a foot long spicy Italian melt sandwich. The sandwich is served on a French baguette and it was light and flaky. We couldn't stop eating the sandwich and quickly polished it off. We then shared a lasagna. My favorite pasta dish and this one ranks right up there with the best of them. A large portion will lots of meat and melted cheese and served with two pieces of garlic bread. We finished off with a garlic chicken pizza. The fresh tomatoes, chicken and garlic just blend together so well.

We had an amazing meal. The service was friendly and very helpful. Can't wait to come back and try more of...
