Pipeline — Restaurant in Newport Beach

Hi Jerry, this is Bill Allen and I understand you are owner of Pipeline. I just wanted to tell you what an amazing employee you have in Zach. I am from Arizona and whenever I go to Newport Beach, which is about twice a year, I have to go to the Pipeline and get one of your hamburgers! Those are seriously one of my favorite hamburgers ever! When I told Zach that, he wanted to make sure that his hamburger was what I expected. I told him the things I like, he listened carefully, and then made it perfect! I felt like he wouldn't have taken any better care of me if I would have been his own grandpa! Later on, as I would walk by Pipeline, as I was walking along the beach, he would see me and smile and wave! So not only does he make an amazing hamburger but he is just a nice person as well! I'm already looking forward to my next trip to Newport Beach and I will definitely go see Zach and get one of those Pipeline...

We ordered food for a family of 4, and it took probably 25 minutes to receive our food (they were not busy at all - I think 1 person was in line in front of us). When we did receive the food, they had messed up my husband's order, which he had made sure to repeat to them prior to ordering to ensure they had it correct. It took another 10 minutes to fix his order (which was really only adding bacon to a cheeseburger). I ordered the turkey sandwich with green chilies. The sandwich looked like a kindergartner had thrown it together. The lettuce was wilted, and the cheese had crusty dried out edges like it had been sitting in the fridge uncovered for a few days. Had a great bike ride from Huntington Beach to the Newport Beach Balboa peninsula. Stopped here to grab a bite to eat and was pleasantly surprised that they carried a New Mexico Chile hamburger which was quite good. I had their combo which added fries (cooked to a nice golden brown and had a crispy exterior with a soft interior) and a fountain drink. While this was not fantastic, it exceeded my expectations of tasteless food by a large amount. We were fortunate enough to sit at one of the benches on the grass and could view the beach, people watch as countless people strolled along the pathway. Between the food, Beach, and spectical of people watching, I was highly enamored...
