We got seated quickly and it had a nice ambiance. The appetizers were delicious, though the calamari was half filled with arugula and greens. The food came quickly. I ordered the Pulled Pork BBQ sandwich: brioche bun, crispy onions, cilantro and coleslaw. It sounded amazing. When it got delivered it just had dry pulled Pork and the bun. No BBQ sauce, no crispy onions and no cilantro. I had to ask for the sauce and onions only to be told that the kitchen was out of onions and they didn't tell our amazing waitress. I then had to basically mix the -dry- pulled Pork with the BBQ sauce, put on the coleslaw, and still didn't have cilantro. My family had awesome food but they were finished eating by the time I got to even take a bite of my sandwich. So 4/5 stars. I didn't have the best dinner there and I'm never going to order the mediocre sandwich again but my family enjoyed there food. The waitress did give us some fries as compensation so my family got to enjoy those. We then waited a good long while for the cookie and icecream. Longer than a cookie with a scoop of icecream should take. But the wait was worth it. It was delicious and she gave us a complimentary Cheesecake slice! Love the waitress, not the kitchen. I will probably only come back because of the desert and...

We've eaten at the Village Inn on Balboa Island several times BEFORE the pandemic and it was fine. We went again today, arriving around 4:30 pm. We got bowls of New England clam chowder with garlic bread, then we walked around window shopping and looking at the lights. The food was good but we had to chase down our bill to pay, which wasn't good. I imagine plenty of people have just left without paying ... no one appears into be "minding the store", as the saying goes. Then we used the restrooms before we left. EWWWWW !!!!

If a restaurant doesn't keep their restrooms clean, what is happening in the KITCHEN ??? The floor appeared to have NOT been scrubbed or mopped for MONTHS, possibly YEARS. The white tile and grout were FILTHY. No one is monitoring for cleanliness. There were wads of toilet paper stuck to the ceiling - I kid you not! I physically got queasy after using their restroom. My thoughts turned to their kitchen. How filthy and disgusting are their food prep areas??? Photos are worth a thousand words so I'm allowing them to tell this story ...

Very sad first visit at the end. Great beverage, food and music. Got check, gave credit card. 20 minutes later, got Bill for TWICE as much, and the signature was FORGED, NOT MY BILL AND NOT MY SIGNATURE. No credit card. Only after I offered to invite Newport Beach Police to help find my credit card and correct check did anyone find my credit card and correct bill. Several waiters and waitresses who were Never at our table said the DOUBLE amount was what we should pay, and denied I gave my credit card.

Lesson: offer to invite NB Police and they back off and cut the B.S.. After I had my credit card in hand, I gave the bloke who variously claimed to be the manager or owner a generous cash tip for our server. I hope he gave it to her and not to the fakers who said "I served your table."

They were not very busy. We enjoyed beverages with food and stayed to listen to a little music. Did they really think we would be paying for a party of fourfour, instead of two, and handing over multiple credit cards?

If you dine here, check your wallet and your credit card statement VERY...

This food is far from spectacular. So flavorful and amazing. The staff is the best the closest to to the best hospitality. The staff makes sure your taking care of. These drinks are totally amazing the moment I got half way into my glass and suddenly I couldn’t feel my toes. That moment I knew I was going to enjoy this place. The patio is stiunning and beautiful. The environment is so calm you could literally enjoy your best life right here if you could. Def coming back to enjoy more food their nachos, jalapeƱo poppers to the blackened salmon, fish and chips and also the prime rib so delicious my stomach is screaming out to come back and have some great food. If your in the area check them out

Just a cool šŸ˜Ž place, me personally not a huge fan of the food… but ALOT of my friends like it… Pros - awesome location great staff good service. It’s a gathering place for a lot of locals. And they have a lot of fun activities especially around the holidays. I really like it. I just don’t go here a lot because I’m not a huge fan of the food. Lol. And I live on the peninsula, so mostly go to peninsula places, but it’s great Cons: Parking can be tough, the food is so so, I can get really crowded and annoying lol. That’s about it. Everything else is great.
