Wendy's — Restaurant in Newport Beach

This location just received a downgrade from my original 4-star review to 1-star

This is based on the way we were greeted and treated when we attempted to place our order inside the store.

Upon arriving at the counter we were completely ignored by the staff inside the store, who refused to acknowledge our presence or even make eye contact.

We were getting close to just turning around and leaving, when after a protracted amount of time fast food worker Karen came to the counter. To tell us we needed to wait...

It was both the way she said it as well as the fact that when we first came to the counter, someone should have said "we're sorry folks but we'll be very shortly" or something to that effect rather than deliberately ignoring us.

Haven't had some time to observe what was going on in the kitchen while we were waiting, it was clear that Karen and two of the other co-workers were highly inefficient while the guy who was doing the cooking seemed to be the only one doing everything at once.

I asked Karen not to get our frosty ready before our meal as it was clear the food service was going to be slow and it didn't want to melt before we're ready to eat it, but she just ignored me then gave me a look like a fish out of water.

Nothing wrong with the food this time, but if you want to keep your customers don't treat them like they're inconveniencing you or when they come to your establishment, or they won't keep coming back.

I don't think the management at certain establishments understand the importance of customer service. I hate complaining about this type of thing, But it honestly it can ruin the experience for you and cause aggravation and annoyance. I've had so many locations with excellent customer service that I just can't overlook these type of issues anymore. The staff really needs to be educated on proper...

Been coming to this Wendy’s location since before it opened (#25 baby!) and I gotta say, this is easily the best fast food restaurant in terms of service in the Newport/Irvine area.

Come during rush hour, you’ll still get your food anywhere between negative 10 seconds (yes, ‘negative’—I’ve had it happen where I’ll still be paying and my food will be ready) and 5 minutes MAX. Everyone here is a team player, and ON IT.

Food here is always spot on too. I usually go for a Jr. fry and a larger burger/chicken sandwich. In this particular photo, I got a Dave’s Double. Pro tip: anything beyond a single is going to be a cavern of meat, so be sure to double up on veggies for the ‘Double’ or stomach-defying ‘Triple’. Fries are always crispy and even have a spiciness in the powder they put on it (those with an aversion to spice beware).

Soda machine is great and easy to use. Nugs here are legit. Sauces are good and team will give you some without rolling their eyes like other places do. Bathrooms are clean for the most part. Friendly greetings and farewells are commonplace.

Highly recommend for your fast food needs!

I'm getting tired of dealing which places like this. Let me teach you something that most people don't teach you Wendy's. This particular one. So condiments fell on the floor. It was a few of them . You pick them up off the nasty floor and then you put them back. It was only like four or five. Those are supposed to be disposed of as soon as they hit the floor. Then instead of washing your hands after that you proceeded to go ahead and continue to package and serve food. I'm glad it's the turn of the new year. I was going to say I'm not going to this restaurant ever again, but it's going to start being that I'm not going to fast food restaurants at all. Y'all charge the same prices as a sit down restaurant. At least I know they have enough common sense and the common decency to wash their hands. Dispose of products that they deem...
