Marina Café & Pub — Restaurant in Newport

My friends and I went to The Marina Cafe for it's re-opening night on Friday.We were sat inside next to a roaring pellet stove and were very comfortable and still had a great view of the harbor. I had little necks on the half shell as an app. They were so fresh...( I will be back on Mondays when they have $1.00 little necks and oysters!) My entree was Atlantic Cod....I will definitely order that again on my next visit. I wanted to taste the Tequila Shrimp but no one was willing to share! Great service and wonderful atmosphere. Awesome place to view Newport Harbor from the "other side". Take a water taxi and complete...

Went here for dinner with friends. It was recommended to us by our shuttle driver. We had a party of 6 and when we arrived we almost immediately seated. The waiter was good and attentive to our needs.

Unfortunately, the food wasn't as good. Some of us got fried seafood or had french fries with the meals. The oil they used should have been changed 2 days ago. All of the fried food was very dark in color and wasn't good at all. About a half hour later my dinner, it went right through me.

I hardly have what you would call a weak constitution. But this...

How fun is this place! We just arrived in Newport after a long drive and decided to try a new place. I'm glad we did! Great atmosphere and bar. Beautiful view. Great bar tenders and wait staff. All SO friendly. It was essentially all outdoors and not your typical place to eat. It was more a sort of, take out and seat yourself kind of thing. But, i truly enjoyed the experience. My husband and I both had salads with added chicken, he had the chowder. All good. Beautiful view of the marina. Everyone in a good mood. Nice kickoff to our weekend....
