Wyndham Vacation Resorts - Long Wharf — Hotel in Newport

I recently had the misfortune of staying at this hotel, and it was an absolute nightmare from start to finish.

First of all, the parking lot was littered with nails and other sharp objects. I informed the front desk, and they didn't seem to care.

The room itself was filthy. The sheets were stained, and there was a strange odor that made it almost impossible to sleep. The bathroom was no better, with grime in the shower and a sink that looked like it hadn't been cleaned in weeks. Housekeeping was non-existent, and any request for clean towels or toiletries was ignored.

To make matters worse, the fitness room was a complete disaster. The equipment was old and some machines were completely broken. The floor was sticky, and there were no sanitizing wipes available. It was clear that this area hadn't been cleaned or maintained in a very long time.

Overall, this was one of the worst hotel experiences I have ever had. The lack of cleanliness and attention to basic maintenance is unacceptable. I would strongly advise anyone considering this hotel to look elsewhere. Kids were running around and screaming down the...

The unit was clean and the staff was pleasant. The resort is conveniently located to shopping and restaurants. There is a small onsite gym, an indoor pool, and outdoor pool, 2 small hot tubs, and a sauna.

I would easily give the resort 5 stars, however, there was no washer/dryer in the unit (however there are free washer and dryers available) and there was not a balcony. These are 2 things I have come to expect from Club Wyndham properties so I was disappointed to not have them. I would also have liked more towel hooks in the bathrooms. On vacation, I love the beach and hesitated to make a reservation. I'd been looking at it for a couple of years. But wow, the resort and location has surpassed my expectations.
