I tried Hugo DeLuca’s on opening day, but was pleasantly surprised by how smoothly the place ran and how tasty the sandwiches were. I shared the porchetta and the chicken cutlet with a friend and thought both were delicious. I may have liked the porchetta a little more, but only just a by a little bit. Best of luck!

Now this is how you make an Italian sub. Lots of meat, fresh soft thinner, roll and great quality cold cuts. So happy to have a deli back in Newton that can make a great Italian sub.

Service was fine. I was greeted and had my order taken in a nice manner. All I kept hearing was about the Italian subs. So I decided to try it. Was nice to see it had the soppresata, prosciutto, and some others. But I have to say I was disappointed when I got the sandwich. It had an abundance amount of watery ham and one thin stretched out layer of the other meats. For $15 that sandwich should be loaded. Sadly I have yet to find an Italian deli in Sussex county that compares to other top places. Just for reference of places I mean I would suggest getting an Italian with those meats at sorentos in East Hanover to compare or violantes in Nutley. Those are just two of the many real Italian delis that make sandwiches how they should be. Hopefully some changes can be made. I’ll maybe try again in...

Excited to have a new deli here, but could use more organization during rush times. Poor girl on the counter taking all the calls and all the orders. I was on hold on the phone, just trying to place my order for over 20 minutes. I then just decided to walk over and order a quick toasted bagel with cream cheese. It took over 15 minutes for the bagel to be ready and it wasn’t toasted.

If you order in the morning, obviously no rush, foods out quick! But if you’re pressed for time, don’t order...

Very slow service. Call your order in an hour in advanced during lunch time. Food is okay but the amount of time you will wait for one sandwhich isn't worth. And I was given the wrong food after waiting 30 min. Don't waste your time. I have been here multiple times and it's always been the same thing. Go to G&S down the road. Don't advertise as a deli if you cannot get the food out quickly. I'm done...
