Indian Masala is an absolute treasure! My experience dining here was exceptional, and I am thrilled to give them a well-deserved five stars in every category.

The cuisine at Indian Masala is extraordinary. Each dish bursts with authentic flavors and is crafted with the utmost care. From the rich, aromatic curries to the perfectly spiced tandoori dishes, every bite is a culinary delight. The use of fresh ingredients and traditional recipes makes the food here a true standout. Whether you're a fan of spicy dishes or prefer milder flavors, the menu offers a wide range of options that cater to all tastes.

The staff at Indian Masala are incredibly welcoming and friendly. From the moment you step in, you are greeted with genuine smiles and warm hospitality. They make you feel right at home and are always eager to ensure that your dining experience is enjoyable.

The customer service at Indian Masala is top-notch. The staff are attentive and go out of their way to cater to your needs. They are knowledgeable about the menu and are happy to provide recommendations or customize dishes to suit your preferences. The service is prompt and efficient, making sure that you have everything you need without any delay.

The ambiance at Indian Masala is perfect for a relaxed and enjoyable meal. The decor is elegant with a touch of traditional Indian charm, creating a cozy and inviting atmosphere. Whether you're dining with family, friends, or on a romantic date, the setting is ideal for a memorable dining experience.

In conclusion, Indian Masala excels in every aspect, from their delicious food to their exceptional service and warm ambiance. I highly recommend this restaurant to anyone looking for an authentic and delightful Indian dining experience. You won't be...

My fiancé and I were in the area and wanted a good meal. We saw that India Masala had a high rating and decided to give it a try. In a quiet street in a small town, tucked into the bottom floor of a home/apartments is India Masala. The dining area is small, about 10 tables, and welcoming. Decor is slightly mismatched (faux brick walls, pictures of spices, Victorian girl painting) but comfortable. The service was warm and friendly. We were checked on several times but did not feel like anyone was hovering around us. For appetizers we ordered the Gobi Manchurian and Papad. The Gobi was crispy and spicy, very tasty! The papad was generic and served with tamarind, mint and mango chutney. They were all very flavorful! We ordered garlic naan to share which was very garlicky and maintained its garlic goodness even when paired with the well spiced main dishes. My fiancé ordered Lamb Rogan Josh with a high heat level. He was impressed by the quality of meat noting it was tender yet lean and flavorful. Heat level was accurate to what he asked for. I ordered the Paneer Achari which came out on a sizzling pan with a side of sauce. The sauce seemed to be something similar to tikka masala sauce or at least that’s what it reminded me of! It was tasty and spicy. A good balance for someone like me who enjoys spice and heat but isn’t a Pepper Head like my fiancé. At the end of our meal a kind server brought out Kulfi/ice cream which was on the house. It was a pistachio-cardamom treat which was a perfect way to end our meal. The only real disappointment here is that it is 2 hours away from...

I’ve been all over the globe and I love to “check out” Indian restaurants. This business started 3 years ago and decor is simple but not authentic - dare I say mismatched. It gives the restaurant a homey feel but not overwhelmingly traditional. Place settings are nice and clean. As a small space, I expect service to be attentive and prompt - and it is. Temperature is comfortable- not chilly nor hot. Single person bathroom is clean, although out of towels. (The privacy curtain in the hall provided an admirable solution.) I wanted the traditional curry but the waiter convinced me to try the iktara (sp?). I asked for mild - perhaps this dish is better medium as there was no heat at all. It was tasty and portioned for two adults. Chicken was a bit dry; this dish would suit vegetables better I think. Two dings: Flies from the kitchen and a single cockroach on my table. But as an open, old building one must expect to share. I will not be back to Newton (passing through), but I can recommend this...

We made a reservation for 3 at 5:30pm on a Friday night. We were seated promptly. There were two other parties and a few available tables at that time but as time past the restaurant got busier. We started with a shared appetizer that we very much enjoyed. - Papdi Chaat As entrees we had Chicken Tikka Masala, chicken chettinad, and chicken xacuti. The last item on their summer specials menu. We added a garlic Naan and a Peshwari Naan For dessert we tried the carrot halwa and Gulab Jamun. The restaurant is BYOB and they immediate provided wine glasses without question. The food was very tasty and the atmosphere pleasant. The only dish that was slightly disappointing was the Chicken Tikka Masala - it tasted like chicken in cream of tomato soup, sweet and without Indian spice. While it tasted ok it wasn’t what we typical experience for this dish. We encountered no other challenges. The dinner was for a birthday celebration and it was perfect for us. We would certainly return.

10/4/24 We had dinner before a concert in the nearby Newton Theater. Street parking if you got lucky or a municipal parking about 2 blocks away. It's cute 1st floor of a house. Service was good. While some of the staff did not know much English they were very polite and helpful. Fish Fry - meh. I thought the fish would be cooked in a sauce, but it came with a dipping sauce. The batter needed seasoning, and the dipping sauce was just mayo with some Indian spices. I say pass. Chicken Kadai - flavorful sauce i just didn't like the breast meat they use. I generally dislike breast meat because it tends to me dry and tough. This dish would have been way better with thigh meat. Shrimp Malabar Curry - again, a good sauce. Plenty of shrimp. Garlic Naan - ok Peshwari Naan - raisins and nuts Naan was interesting, not sure I would get it again. It's slightly sweet. The texture is like finely shredded coconut.

A nice, homey, small town Indian restaurant. We came around 5:30 pm and it was just getting busy. It’s probably best to make a reservation to ensure a table, although we came in without one and managed to nab the last large table. The staff are very kind and accommodating. We started with the Imli Baingan which was fantastic, refreshing and layered with different textures. We had the Kabab Sampler which was a little dry, although the flavor was pretty good - it also comes in very small portions just as an FYI. For the main course, we ordered family style the lamb chops (overcooked and burnt), the jumbo tandoor shrimp (good rub but slightly salty), the chicken tikka masala (more tomato and tangy than it is creamy), and the lamb biryani (perfectly seasoned and spiced). We had one butter naan and one garlic naan (delicious, soft and warm).
