Very nice ambience in a nook on Spring Street. I really wanted to give a great review, but I have to be honest. I was not impressed with my drink. 😌 Nevertheless, my main issue was with the lack of warm , friendly customer service. I entered into the shop to two woman (backs turned) , one starkly focused on making a sandwich and the other starkly focused on making a recipe baked good. No one greeted us as we entered which was very disheartening. Their backs remained turned. We literally stood there for at least 5mins in silence. Then the barista finally appeared from in the bathroom , with a very luke warm greet at best. Any small local coffee shop you would expect more personable approach to their patrons: A hi good morning, a pleasant smile, A someone will be right with you. Getting to know the community they are serving. We did not experience any of those pleasantries.I really wanted to support my local small business, but I must say, I will stick to my Dunkin Donuts, until things improve. I still will hold on to hope. The place does look very comfy , but their matcha is heavily watered downed and their customer service needs a...
Read moreI soooooooo badly wanted to love this place. It's so close to me and I love iced coffee. I seen that there were some paintings from a local artist , which was a very nice touch , I am a painter myself and it definitely added to that cool atmosphere. But from there it tanked. For me at least. I really didn't know what to order and I was in a rush. I ended up with a hazelnut iced coffee. I was only able to take about 3 sips. It was very bitter. No hazelnut taste. Almost no sugar when I said I wanted a generous amount. I shared my coffee with 2 other people I was with to see if it was just me and it wasn't. Besides the coffee, the barista.... ehhh .... Did not smile once and just seemed like ,with facial expressions, that she really didn't want to make me a coffee. No response when I said thanks. Maybe they were having an off day , who knows. I'll give this place one more chance in a few days and if it turns out to be great I'll...
Read more🌟 Absolute gem! 🌟 Pennyrose Coffee Co. is the kind of local spot you just want to keep coming back to. The space is beautiful, warm, and welcoming — filled with local artwork and a vibe that makes you want to stay a while.
Brooke and Cooper are fantastic hosts/baristas — friendly, knowledgeable, and clearly passionate about what they do. I had the Groovy tea (iced) and it was so good I bought some to take home. Love that it’s organic and locally crafted right here in NJ.
Also picked up a Boston crème donut for my husband and a chocolate-filled croissant for my son — both were a hit.
Highly recommend stopping in if you're anywhere near the area. Great coffee, great people, and a perfect example of why it's so important to support local businesses...
