I can’t speak to the food but Cheryl in the 55 Needham Street in Newton Ma location went above and beyond. She is like a superhero in my book! My son was in Newton taking day long exams and I got a message from GrubHub saying his food would not be ready for 3 hours after the delivery time (it was scheduled to be delivered 20min before his break as a special treat and because he failed to bring a lunch). And if you had the “pleasure” of going to school we all know nobody does well on tests on an empty stomach! GrubHub made it sound like Jersey Mike’s couldn’t make the sandwich until 1p. So I went online and it said GrubHub could deliver from there in 20-30min. So why was my son’s sandwich going to be 3 hours late??? I called the store and Cheryl said his sandwich was already made and ready! How horrible is that is GrubHub to make it look like your fault? So I was on the phone with GrubHub when I got a call back from Cheryl (who hadn’t even taken my number down as far as I knew). She said that the Grub Hub driver was in the store picking up my sandwich. She even remembered it was for my son who was in the middle of exams! She wished him well on his exams. I have to say, as a busy solo parent this nearly brought me to tears! How genuinely kind of her and highly unexpected! I don’t know any other restaurant of any level (Michelin restaurants update you on your GrubHub status because there is a kid involved? No way.) that would provide this genuine kindness! Everyone else always says “I don’t know call GrubHub” and that’s the end of it. I certainly wouldn’t expect it. Read moreI visited this location for lunch on Tuesday, 1/14, and unfortunately had a very uncomfortable and unsettling experience. While waiting to order, I witnessed a woman, who appeared to be managing the team, behaving in a highly disrespectful and inappropriate manner. She yelled at an employee in the back, who seemed to be taking a break to eat, and threatened to send him home while making other demeaning comments.
Another employee tried to stand up for the person on break, which only escalated the situation, leading to more tension. It was incredibly awkward to witness such hostility, and it was clear this manager was dominating the team in a way that felt more controlling than collaborative.
Although she was polite to me at the register, it didn’t sit well with me after seeing her treat the team so poorly. Her behavior toward her staff has left me hesitant to return, as it completely overshadowed...

I came to the newton location for the first time because I was in the area the service was awful 0/10 the lady threw my bread on the counter.. wouldn’t let me take my time to order since I can be very indecisive.
