Lee's Burger Place — Restaurant in Newton

I would recommend this location and this restaurant. I stopped by this location because of a recommendation by my family members. They said it was a corner type burger joint. I said well why not give them a try. I selected the cheese steak and french fries for my selection. This is what I was craving and I got it. The fries were really good when I arrived at the house even after a 20 minute ride in the bag. I ate one just out of the fryer and I was in heaven. The cheese steak was pretty good and loaded with meat. I obtained some of their "secret sauce"...lol My family member asked for it and threw it into the bag for me to sample. I recognized the taste in the mixture. I did think the restaurant was a bit crowded but this is a corner type store in the city. Many of these locations are tight quarters. The food here is outstanding. I've been coming here ever since middle school, and the quality has remained consistent and of high quality since then.

The shop itself doesn't have much seating, but they do have take-out and order ahead options to ensure you can be in and out. Every time i've ordered they have had the food out within 15 minutes, even if they are quite busy during dinnertime.

I've tried multiple of the burgers, with the double jack burger and the Lee's burger being the best. The portion size is large enough to be fulfilling for dinner, and the prices on the burgers are reasonable and not too expensive compared to other places. The french fries are lightly salted but crispy, and the mayo sauce they make is one of my favorite sauces I've ever had.

I have been a Lee's fan since they first took over the Flippin' Burgers spot in Newton Centre years ago. I haven't been back as much over the past couple of years, but I took a walk there last weekend. It could have been a great experience, but I was with a friend who had her vested service dog with her. The guy running the cash register asked us repeatedly if we would eat outside. My friend stood firm on her rights, and he persisted that he couldn't make her eat outside, he's just asking her to please not eat inside. It was the most uncomfortable, disappointing dining experience I've had in my life. It's going to be hard for me to ever go back to Lee's now, knowing that they're the sort of place that would allow their service staff to participate in that sort of casual...
