McDonald's — Restaurant in Newton

This place is olay, I mean, it’s McDonald’s but even then, it’s been REALLY bad recently. They close early without notice because one worker in particular is garbage and tries to weasel out of work, they lie about their hours and will contest anyone who tries to write in the correct hours (their stated hours are until 1am not 2am and THEY DONT EVEN HAVE A DRIVE THRU yet keep falsely writing in drive thru hours) The one worker here in particular who is trash… Portuguese guy with dyed bleach blonde short hair.

This guy consistently sucks, been coming to this location for 25 years because it’s the closest one and a minute away and there has never been an employee here as bad as this guy. One other Portuguese guy hired around the same time as him also sucked but he’s not here anymore. This bleach blonde dude persists unfortunately.

He will close the location as early as 11:30 if it’s just him and the cooks, he skimps on fries (like he will fill a large halfway and will happily serve you cold ones) and give you an attitude if you catch it and ask for it to be done right… which is weird because he doesn’t own or is affected at all by profit margins and NO OTHER employee does this. He started laying the fries down in the bag horizontally so they spread out and it looks like it’s filed until you get home and find out. Mobile order something they don’t have at the moment? An apple pie? A dessert? He’ll fill the order in the system, place the bag down and call out a name without telling you he didn’t put the item in. It takes a person to say “hey this isn’t in here” if they catch it and then he says “oh we ran out”. He won’t admit that before, or offer a refund unless you catch him and even then you have to ask. What the hell kind of person does this? He’ll accept mobile orders late at night as he decide he wants to close and leave because it’ll flag in the system as an unfulfilled order so then your money is taken from the card because he’ll tell the system that he fulfilled the orders and you have to waste time to come back the next day to demand a refund. Often times people are knocking on the door or trying to get peoples attention inside simply asking for their money back but he won’t open the door.

This restaurant’s management has never hired someone as terrible as this guy and none of their other hires are bad so that leads me to believe they might not be aware of how bad this guy is. Everyone else is actually solid… just the fact that this idiot is always there and too often left in charge at night means the quality of this place is ALWAYS suffering.

If anyone management sees this, this guy is losing you money. The amount of times I’ve asked for refunds or free food because of this bad hire is shocking. I’ve seen HUNDREDS of people through the past year or two drive into the parking lot only to have to deal with this guy closing early or an already closed restaurant probably never to return or trust this McDonald’s hours ever again. People do actively avoid this McDonald’s if they can or decide to come here less. ANYONE will be a better worker than that guy and you should absolutely look into...

Updated review: i WISH i could rate 0 stars. This is the laziest McDonalds I've ever seen. They are STILL closing early. WAY early. Why is your time listed as 1 when they are locking the doors at 12:30. I'm going to post a complaint everywhere I can, and I will be speaking to the "manager", in the morning. Lazy,I wanna go home early staff, PERIOD. Again, people (like mine) depend on this place being open. WHY are you closing early!?? Better Business Burreau will hear about this terrible place. 3 times in the last 2 weeks when I visited this McDonalds, the doors were locked at 12:30 am even though they were open till 1, and there were many customers inside. You have to bang on the window to get another customer or employee to let you in. When I asked why the doors were locked early, I got a reply in Spanish. Thanks. Newton Mc'Ds employees... you work at McDonalds, you aren't gonna close early, one or two of you might get to go home early and that's it, so why lock the doors!? People depend on a restaurant like this. They get out of work, or they are on break, or like me, it's the only meal I eat a day and I get there in the evening. When these employees lock the doors early, it affects people's lives. The staff can be polite, and the food is ok (except the chicken), but the staff is generally very lazy, and they often get orders wrong, even thru the app or...

me and my daughter ate breakfast here this past monday & we had great experience. it was actually the best McDonald’s i have ever eaten at! we had the hot cakes and the newer sausage egg & cheese on a bagel (they add butter & their new? breakfast sauce which is delicious!) oh and i got a very crispy, cold diet coke which is an essential item to get at McD’s! i believe the manager helped us because the app kept crashing when i preordered and it kept cancelling my order (which almost never happens since i utilize the app very often) Furthermore, the very kind & professional manager went out of his way to accommodate us and even hand delivered our meal. the restaurant was very modern, clean and also had several self service ordering computers/flat screens. very user friendly! just want to thank the manager and perhaps the other female manager or employee, you both were great and deserve a raise!...
