Montana Mike's Steakhouse — Restaurant in Newton

Went in and ordered food and must say that I will never return to this establishment. I was extremely disappointed with the service that we got from our server “Sammy”; it felt as if though it was beneath her to take our order. Yes I understand that this line off work can be difficult growing up in the restaurant world myself but it does not justify treating your customers in such a manner. Secondly we ordered to medium-rare filet mignons which came to our table well done. When stated that this was over done she rudely replied I’ll get another one cooked. My friend chose not to send hers back do to the fear of what they could do to her food so instead she chose not to eat the steak. Finally the recooked meal came out the sides were all cold but the steak was correct I just chose a box and decided to leave having had enough of the poor service. I asked to speak to a manager. When the manager “Tanner” came out he chuckled and said this is how we learn. I found nothing funny about this situation or the fact that I paid $$$$ for food that was no where near enjoyable. Pam and I haven't eaten at Montana Mikes in Newton for some time so we decided to stop by sunday after church. We weren't terribly hungry so decided on something smaller. I ordered the campfire shrimp and a side of mushrooms and very glad I did. The shrimp were awesome, and that's a huge understatement. I love that mouthwateringly delicious campfire sauce that comes with a gentle spice heat, I've ordered bone in wings in the past and ask them to use that sauce. The mushrooms were delicious as well, one of my all time favorite sides. Pam ordered the chopped steak along with a baked potato. Both were superb, even though I'm not supposed to eat steak due to the fear of setting off an gout attack I did sample a little piece and it was very tasty. I nearly forgot to mention the dinner rolls are exceptional here, large hot and tender. We were seated quickly and we were fortunate to have a very good and attentive waitress. Our meals came to the table quickly and I was impressed by the Manager visiting various tables including ours to inquire if all was well. We had an excellent experience and will be going...

I was very disappointed with this place, we were told the wait would be 10 min we decided to go to the bar. When asking the bar tender about the wine selection he asked a lady that was sitting at the bar about the wine selection, she then said she was the bar manager. Our table was ready in exactly 10 min, to my surprise the place was empty which made no sense to me why it took 10 min to sit us down, well I gave them the the benefit of the doubt since I only saw two servers. Well it went down hill from there, we ordered our food steak and fries/veggies not to difficult. We were told they no longer had any TBone steak so my husband ordered another without a sauce that came with it, 5 min later we were told again they didn't have the steak my husband boss ordered. Needless to say we still wanted to give the restaurant the benefit of the doubt .. the 3 steaks were way over cooked, no flavor, and tough my husband steak had the sauce he asked without.
