The Cherry Tree — Restaurant in Newton

It’s about what you expect from a sports bar atmosphere wise. Kinda “grimy” but again, to be expected from a place like this. But why on earth did the waitress keep disappearing?! She would take one table’s order then be gone for 15+ minutes. She did say normally she isn’t a waitress. So what was she doing? Was she cooking? Genuinely don’t know. We ordered apps and drinks and entrees. I had a cherry coke which was good. The 8 dollars pretzels were decent, though I wish they had cheese not honey mustard. And the entree was way too expensive. The menu (which is pictured) says ALL ENTREES GET A SIDE. Mine came WITHOUT. I asked the “waitress” where my side was and she said “The quesadilla doesn’t get a side.” I didn’t argue at the time because I didn’t have a menu in front of me and thought I had made the mistake. I was later able to look and I did not. Not only that, but the quesadilla was somehow 21 dollars???!!! It says 20. Extremely unhappy with the service. We weren’t the only ones who were unhappy either. I try to be kind in these reviews. I really do. I love food. I love going on trips. This was just really scammy. “The menu is out of date”. Discovered this place 6-9 months ago. LOVED IT! I got wings. My daughter got a burger. We watched the B’s game. Great food. Great atmosphere. Great prices. We liked it so much, we came back the next night! Another great experience. We’re big sports fans and now we had discovered our new favorite place to have dinner and watch a game. We had gone there every few/couple of weeks and it continued to be great. Fast forward a few months though, and we come in to watch a Bruins playoff game and Something had changed. The menu was totally different. It had been completely stream lined snd many of the things that we had regularly gotten were no longer on the menu, and The price for the wings for example had jumped up about $6 bucks, i asked the waitress if the menu had changed, and she said it was the first day with the new menu. Now I know inflation & prices are up, but to totally cut a menu down seems a little drastic. We havent been back since. Please bring back your complete old menu!!! Football season is around...

I've been by this place so many times I don't want to count. Heard about it for years also. There's some reason we went here for dinner tonight, and we had a burger and steak and cheese sub. Great bar food! Sandwiches were super good bar food. In today's marketplace, the food prices were very fair or even some.mighr say low. I definitely hope to go back soon. Superb waitress...
