I came in with my family tonight and ordered the four cheese mac n cheese with chicken tenders. Literally within the first couple of bites, I discovered a hair on one of the pieces of chicken. I debated on whether to send the food back, but decided it would be too much of a hassle and just let it go. I picked off the hair and put that piece of chicken aside and moved on. When the server checked on us, we told her everything was fine. Kept eating and it was actually pretty good, considering. I then got to some chicken/pasta that had a long hair entwined and twisted up in the whole dish. It was disgusting and there was no way to overlook it. The service up to that point had been pretty decent, but she must've gotten really busy because we waited forever for her to check back, when she finally checked back, I was very nice explaining the issue to her and she was very understanding and went to get the manager. He came over and I explained the issue to him and showed him the evidence, and he was like, "Hmmm that's strange, because neither of the cooks working tonight even have hair" , he also pointed out that he had been the one to deliver the food. I didn't realize until I got home, that he was basically calling me a liar, and implying I planted the hair? Why else would he point out the cooks had no hair and be like, "Hmmm" about it? It's bad enough to find more than one hair in your food, but to have the manager imply that you're a liar on top of everything is just insulting! He did take off the price of the entree, but he was very weird about it and after the adjustments had been made, he handed the check to my husband and said, "I'm giving this to you because you're the boss" Ummm. What? Not only is that extremely sexist, but it's just stupid. Anyway, we'll never be back. Not because of the hairs in the food, (because I realize stuff like this happens as I've been in the food service industry my entire adult life), but because I do not appreciate being...
Read moreI recently had dinner at Applebee’s, and I have to say Edward completely elevated the experience. From the moment we were seated, he made us feel welcomed and valued. His energy was magnetic super friendly, confident, and personable without being overbearing. You could instantly tell he genuinely enjoys what he does.
Edward’s attention to detail was next-level. He remembered every part of our order without writing anything down, made sure all our modifications were correct, and delivered everything quickly and smoothly, even though the restaurant was clearly busy. He checked on us at just the right times not too much, not too little and always with a smile.
What really stood out was how he went above and beyond. He took the time to recommend drink pairings and menu items without sounding pushy. When we mentioned it was a birthday, he brought out dessert with a candle and had the whole team celebrate totally unexpected and so appreciated. You can’t teach the kind of care and charisma Edward brings to the table. It’s rare.
On top of that, he was professional, patient, and fast, even while handling multiple tables around us. I watched him treat every guest with that same warmth and attention. That’s the kind of consistency that makes a huge difference.
If Applebee’s had a Hall of Fame, Edward would be in it. I hope the management knows how valuable he is because he turned a regular night out into a great memory.
Thank you, Edward we’ll definitely be back, and we’ll be asking for...
Read moreThis is not an exaggeration, we were not greeted at all. No hostess present. I looked for a waitress and asked to be seated. Since she was only 1 of 2 servers working I'll cut her some slack. However the truth is the place was absolutely filthy. Food spilled and rubbed into the carpet. SEVERAL un-bussed tables. No refills offered we weren't even checked on. My daughter's chicken wasn't good at all. I'm almost positive with 25yrs restaurant exp it was prepared from a frozen state. It had no flavor and the consistency was like a nasty breaded soy patty. The restrooms needed major attention. A kitchen staff member actually brought one of our dishes to us. The chips we received were tasteless. The worst thing I saw or rather didn't see...was a manager the whole time we were there. That's really who I hold responsible for the utter mess and poor service. The mgr should've been way more attentive to the dining room operations especially on mother's day. I spent 50+ and tipped bc the server was working alone and doing her best with what she had...no help. The one positive I will give is that my ribs were done well. I've NEVER seen this Applebee's in this kind of shape. So to sum up my mother's day dinner at Applebee's in Nicholasville...worst experience I've ever had in my 45yrs of eating out. I wasted my mother's day money. You guys need to hire some help or install better...
