Does the Waffle House Policy apply to arm police in uniform, what a contradiction!!!

NICHOLASVILLE, Ky. (WLEX) -- A soldier was refused service at an Kentucky Waffle House because he was armed.
A social media post about an armed soldier refused service at a Nicholasville restaurant has gone viral. Billy Welch says he was told to leave his gun in his vehicle or he wouldn't be served.
As always, Welch has his gun holstered to his side. The Army National Guard soldier says it's all about safety -- and that's why, Welch says, what happened Sunday caught him by surprise.
Around 1:30 that morning, Welch stopped at the Nicholasville Waffle House, wearing his military uniform, with his gun by his side. Welch says he didn't think too much of it, until he started hearing from people and organizations all over the country.
As it turns out, Micaela Shaw was sitting in a booth nearby, and she took the details to Facebook. Shaw's posts went viral, and Welch says he's grateful for the support. As for Waffle House, a statement from the owner reads in-part, "for many years we have had a 'No Firearms' policy in place in our restaurants. We continue to believe this is the best policy for the safety of our customers and associates."

Read moreA completely unremarkable visit to a place that has the capacity to create trauma out of the mundane. Food was fine. All the customers seemed to be sober (definitely not the norm). Many of the employees seemed to be sober also.
In past trips to the waffle house I've seen all manner of unusual and unsavory activities (mostly late at night). I've seen fights that I'm pretty sure led to divorces, I've seen people pass out at the tables but the weirdest thing I have seen at waffle house was a relatively low key argument, also it was in a language I don't speak.
The argument was between a well groomed Indian man in a suit and a young lady in very traditional Indian garb. They were talking in Hindi and from the time they ordered their food the young lady became more and more upset. She was almost hysterical when their food came, the man got a cheeseburger and she got some soup. It seemed that she was upset about him eating beef because when he finally took a bite of it she broke down into ugly crying. This was too much for me to process at 1 o'clock in the morning and I was about to flee when the young woman ran out of the resteraunt.
I guess what I'm saying is, i judge waffle house visits by how strange and exciting they are and this visit just lacked...
