Server: Danielle. Went in, place about one fourth full. Were seated and each given a menu. Dining partner immediately went to wash hands and during that time I was asked if we wanted to order, so I ordered both drinks (two teas were over $5 plus tax). Partner returned and we were immediately asked if we were ready to order. Asked for a couple of minutes to look at menu and server did not return for fifteen minutes or so. Ordered and got food about thirty minutes later. Never saw server again til ready to leave. Food: Salmon had slightly fishy smell but was edible. Mashed potatoes - real and excellent. Cole slaw - THE BEST, even if slightly soupy. Out of rolls - got biscuits which were okay but no butter was offered with them or the potatoes. Ordered bowl of gravy for biscuits. It was almost $4 plus tax by itself. Expected a creamy light tan-beige colored milk gravy. Received a half bowl of dark brown goo fully embedded with almost black BB-sized sausage ‘nibs.’ Dipped gravy with spoon which was a medium gray color below the surface. Partner pointed out that it also looked like that on the menu. It didn’t taste horrible but looking at it was too much so we ate less than a dollars worth of it. Our glasses were picked up by the rims and taken away to refresh the drinks. We hadn’t used the straws but did after the drinks came back, and we can’t be sure that we each got our own glass back. Total for our meals (he had a breakfast bowl) was almost $34 for poor but friendly service with half of the food being iffy. Cashier asked how was everything. I said not great and was offered to see a manager. Declined, thinking ‘to what avail?’ Don’t live near them so won’t be back but they ruined it for any other Bob Evans store I would have visited - we will both steer clear and warn friends and family. Property: Didn’t visit restroom myself, dining area fairly clean - dried white splatter on glass booth divider (milk shake accident?). A used butter knife was dropped on carpet next to me and several employees walked past it til it was finally picked up after about twenty minutes. Folks at next booth had left soon after we arrived but was not bussed for about 45 minutes. Place still fairly empty as we left, but three people were sitting in foyer waiting to be seated. The whole ‘Bob’ portion of ‘Bob Evans’ storefront sign was unlit in the dark. Sad twist: I’d like to patronize Bob Evans because of the enormous good works the company has done for the folks in southeastern Ohio, among which was building a huge four lane highway connecting them to...
Read moreWe came to bob evans in nicholasville and usually our experience is pretty good there. Tonight was less than great. Our server had no “hospitality” , did not leave straws for my son and didnt come back by for ever so i was trying to give him sips from the cup. Not really a big issue but more things just kept kind of adding up that fet frustrating. I hate brown gravy and asked for white gravy on my potatoes , my entire plate was covered in brown gravy. I would have sent it back but my son was having a fit and i wanted to eat and leave so most of the food was wasted. My husband had ordered pancakes and none of them had butter on them. Again not a huge deal. But its like everything was just wrong or forgotten. We never got asked for refils and our waitress would just disapear. There was a waitress serving the people next to us and she was amazing. I could here her amazing customer service skills and making sure her table was satisfied and had every thing they needed. Im not sure if the girl had a bad day or was new. But it really does affect your experience when your server does not approach you friendly and take care of you when you’re there yah know? And then when your food comes out wrong and things keep being forgotten its just frustrating. I have been a waitress so i understand. But thats your job and you should do the best you can to please the customers. We might just stick with cracker barrel from now on. They are...
Read moreMy wife and I didn't feel like cooking for Easter this year. We got a family meal with Turkey, dressing, mashed potatoes, gravy, cranberry sauce, and biscuits. My wife had ordered this same meal with her family two weeks prior after church while I was out of town on business, and she said the dressing was awesome! On this particular trip she ordered online like she did the last time. Both times even though she ordered rolls instead of biscuits we received biscuits. Not make or break but a tad bit disappointing. So if you order online you may want to try and draw attention to ordering rolls and not biscuits. On this particular order the dressing was not very good. I thought it was because my wife had me all excited about it, but she was more disappointed than I was. It was kind of dry and didn't stay together, plus it just didn't really taste that good. The mashed potatoes and gravy were awesome as usual. The turkey was decent, but that cranberry sauce was awesome! The biscuits were good as always but I really wanted rolls like we ordered. The staff was extremely pleasant as usual and the order was on time with our pickup time request. Had we had rolls and the dressing been better this may have been a five...
