From the cobbled streets of Europe to the heart of our local community, European Delights offers an unparalleled gourmet bakery experience.

As someone who has frequented this spot for years and has traveled extensively, I can confidently say that the culinary delights served here are unrivaled!

One of the standout features of European Delights is its accessibility. Not only is the store wheelchair-friendly, but it also offers a diverse range of options catering to different dietary needs. For those who maintain a gluten-free diet, the almond horns are an absolute treat. They strike the perfect balance of being delectably delicious without being overpoweringly rich. A sentiment echoed by the bakery's other offerings, including the tantalizing macaroons.

For special occasions or just an indulgent weekend, the cakes at European Delights are a must. Each bite is a testament to the craftsmanship and dedication that goes into every creation.

Ambiance plays a significant role in one's dining experience, and European Delights has mastered this aspect as well. With both indoor and outdoor seating available, customers have the flexibility to enjoy their baked goods under the sun or in a cozy corner inside.

However, a word to the wise - arrive early! This gem is no longer a secret, and as the day progresses, finding a spot can be a challenge due to its popularity.

The efficiency and warmth of the staff are also worth mentioning. Each individual ensures that the line moves briskly and all requests are handled with grace and professionalism. Their friendly demeanors only add to the overall delightful experience.

Complementing their bakery selection, European Delights serves coffee and lattes. And for those who prefer non-dairy options, the almond milk variants are a delight.

In conclusion, European Delights isn't just a bakery; it's a destination. Whether you're a local or a visitor, make it a point to indulge in the European experience right here at home in the Bluegrass. From their decadent pastries to their heartwarming beverages, this is a MUST visit. Highly...

My friend just introduced me to European Delights tonight. I don't know how to say this other than, That was the best desert I've ever had in my life. The really nice woman helping us let me know which deserts might fit my palette.

Now I wish I had gotten one of each. We had it boxed for take-away, so I didn't realize how delicious it would be until I got all the way home. I forget what mine was called, but it was a large ring of meringue coated with chocolate, while the center was filled with lemon cream and topped with fresh raspberries.

It was not too sweet, exactly what I had asked for. It had a very pleasing crunch to the meringue and just the right amount of lemon in the cream. The raspberries were a perfect complement.

My friend got a slice of chocolate/orange cake and was very pleased with hers as well. I will definitely go back. I will definitely recommend it. I will request birthday treats from there from now on. :-) By the way, if you decide to stay to eat, the atmosphere is very pleasant, and they have coffee drinks as well.

UPDATE: It's still amazing, and I love to take new friends here. Took my son's Ukrainian dorm-mate here for his 17th birthday, and he was so shocked when the owner greeted him in Ukrainian! 😄 Love this place. Love the people.

Sep 2023: Still love it, a multicultural experience...

Love their cakes, they’re definitely 5 stars, however I’m very disappointed when it comes to their customer service especially when it comes to custom cake orders. My wife and I went to inquire about having a cake done for our son’s first birthday; we were told to send an email and the person who handles the custom cakes would get back to us within 24-48 hours. 3 days later we hadn’t heard back so my wife calls, she got a run around that the custom cake person was on vacation and would be back the next day and would reach out. 2 days later still nothing, wife calls back and once again was told that the cake person was on vacation and would be back the next day, and that she should resend her original email. The next day came, my wife heard nothing again so I called. When I talked to someone, they gave me the same turn around that the person was on vacation and would be back the next day but they would take my number down for custom cake person to call me back. One day went by, then two, then three, still did not hear back from them. Needless to say, we ended up going somewhere else. Again we love European Delight’s cakes, but after the horrible customer service and failure to even call back to say our cake couldn’t be done, I highly doubt my family and friends will ever come back to give...

My husband ordered a custom cake for me. There was an error made and we were told to take this cake for a 50th birthday celebration with ZERO decorations or flowers on it! It was literally a plain cake. When we asked for them to add flowers, we were told to buy a cake topper, lol. I tried contacting the owner later since this was very upsetting only to be told that they don’t recommend custom cakes nor would anything be done to make this situation right since it had been over 24 hours past when we got the cake. I didn’t appreciate being told that this plain cake with zero decorations on it was what I had ordered…clearly the order was taken down wrong. I’ll make it easy on them from now on…I won’t ever be back again for a cake. Long story short…don’t order a custom cake here!

Top notch bakery. We were told that this is the best bakery in Lexington and it did not disappoint. All the pastries we tried were delicious. As far as reviews that complain that staff don’t smile or aren’t friendly, this is a European bakery staffed by Eastern Europeans. If you know anything about Eastern European culture, then you may be aware that they don’t smile a ton. It’s just a cultural thing, so don’t take it personally. We thought the service here was great and the staff was attentive to serve us as soon as we walked up to the counter. Thanks for doing an amazing job, European Delights. Keep up the good work. We’ll look forward to visiting Lexington again so we can eat more of your pastries!
